Hi everyone,

I've had my 250se auto for just over a year now and have just got round to switching on the power button and leaving it on.I have tried it before but just for short times. It certainly makes the car more lively and it still uses all six gears so economy so far does not seem too much worse.

My previous A4 multitronic was very lively in sport mode but would not change into sixth at all so economy was knocked back quite badly.

Does anyone else leave their power switch on all the time?

i turn it on from time to time aswell but wondering if its worth leaving it on always. does it not effect the car to leave this on all the time and how about fuel economy? in the power mode isnt the difference that the lower gears are used more than it is in normal ECT mode?

The fuel economy I average per tank is 32/35mpg ( obc reading ) I find it only uses the lower gears longer when you boot it , it does change down earlier. afaik it has no effect on the car at all otherwise I think it would default back to normal mode when you turn it off/on
