how is the temp at idle??i work for toyota and the way we normally bleed them is to jack the car up as high as you can at the front untill you get hot air through the heaters then switch off let cool for a bit then top up if req!they can be a bit of a bugger to bleed though!hope that helps?

ps remember their is two places for the coolant to go!!!!

run the engine with hot air on the heater.with rad cap off run idle for while until water overflows. or temp guage shows just above normal.turn engine off and fill radiator as the engine cools.as the engine cools it will retract and need more water.cheers.

cheers mate, sounds pretty much like what he did. i just not seen it done that way before

when filling the radiator be careful not to use cold water when the engine is hot and not running. the reason being that cold water can sometimes warp the cylinder head. if the car is hot add water while the engine is running or top up when the engine is still cold.
