Cam Belt And Service

Recommended Posts

sweet....i am on their site now....

on 60000 miles is it a good idea to change waterpump also

does it run on the timing belt or auxiliary?

IMHO it's a good idea to change it, yes. You have to take all the belts off (including the timing belt) to change the water pump, and you'll be doing that anyway if you're changing the timing belt. If you don't change it and it fails later on, it'll be a big job to replace the failed water pump.

The water pump itself runs off an auxillary drive belt.

Hi, I have a Lexus IS 200 and is due for its 6th year full service plus cambelt change. I have quoted the price from Lexus garage and they have to charge me 743 pounds for the full thing. Was wondering anyone know any alternative Lexus specialists in Ipswich which could help? Thanks
