i got 8k on my black lex. i think 8k is the way to go, in my opinion 6k would look too oem hid, whereas 8k just gives off that something different.

Thanks ghumra,

Think il go with that as well... Had a quick look on youtube and the 6000k are just that bit TOO bright I think, id be afraid Im blinding everyone coming the other way!

The temperature isn't a measure of brightness, it's a measure of colour. The higher it goes the more blue it gets, the more likely you are to fail your MOT and be tugged by the police.

OEM is 4,300k for a reason, it's the most efficient colour and gives the best visibility.

It doesn't matter what colour it is though, the reflector based lights in IS200s are hideously inefficient and just blind everyone in the opposite direction.

Someone I know with one of those kits is forever being flashed for blinding other motorists.

As I understood it, the colour and brightness are connected. As in if your light is very purple it does not appear (to oncoming traffic or from your driving perspective) as bright. White light appears the brightest to the eye and as you mentioned, gives the best visibility. Id think that best visibility means most blinding as well...?

Regardless of what colour your IS is, I think 6k hids are the better option.

You shouldn't get any grief from the rozzors or when its MOT time with 6k hids.
