Why Is Petrol Prices Not Listed At Bp, Shell, Total, Etc Sites?

You would have thought that you could go to the Shell UK, BP, Total, Esso, etc website and check the price of fuel at a particular petrol station?

How come you have to go via a 'third-party' site such as www.petrolprices.com?

If you want the price of a loaf of bread at Tescos you can visit tesco.com so why not the same for fuel?

because some petrol stations...infact most are independent stations with the prices set by the owner...even though they trade under BP, Shell etc there not owned by them. thats my experiance from working in petrol stations for a few years anyway very few are owned by the major suppliers so really its too much hassle/ work

The fuel is just a commodity being sold by a shop.

It's no different to the fact you can't go to marmite.com and find out the price of a jar at your local corner shop!
