Welcome. A quick scan of the forum and the knowledge base should help you, but there is not much that goes wrong really.

Earlier cars had water pumps that could fail. As long as you get one thats had its cambelt done then you will be fine, should be 60k or 6 years.

Check the wear on the front tyres too - they go quickly on the inner edges, so you can use that as a bargining tool if they need replacing.
