What type of chains or cables can be used for Lexus 1998 GS300. I was told by Big-O tire person that chains would rubb and or damage srear Struts if chains were used on my GS300. The Big-O store did not sell snow chains.

Can anyone give me correct imformation on this subject. I live in and area where we do get seasonal snow, New Mexico. This year we have had abot 48" total inches, averaging 12" to 16" per snow day(s).

Can anyone help me with this. Much appreciated.

I live in Canada and we get a lot of snow too and we do not use chains at all. It is much better to get proper winter tires and if it is allowed in New Mexico to use studded tires.
