Well pleased today my 1998 MKIV LS400 Passed MOT i.e. MOT £27.50 Garage supplied and replaced split windscreen blade £6.50

No that is the advertised rate to all comers i.e. only £20.00 if you have your car serviced although I dont chance the Lexus there

That is good I pay £39.00 but they do collect and redeliver the car.

How did you miss a split wiper blade when it passes in front of your face 15 times a minute

I had an advisary about one of the tyres being near the mark two years ago - two MOT's later and 7500 miles it has not been mentioned.

Similar thing with mine, the 1st year I had it I took it to a local "Fast Fit" place for the MOT as it was "1/2 price MOT on Wednesdays" and I got advisories on Front discs corroded and front flexi pipes worn.

3 MOTs later at my local independant and no mention since!!!!

I would imagine ( cue Ormi) that the advisories stay on the VOSA computerised system and therefore you would think the tester armed with this information would double check any advisories the next time a test is performed but I guess the discretion factor is also involved.

I think the reason I missed it was that due to an eye problem (now sorted) I had not used the vehicle for 6 weeks and the last time it was used it was raining and I think the wipers must have stuck in the non - park position and the first time I used the car after my eye problems was to take it to M.O.T and it must have torn the blade on returning to the parking position i.e. it was not raining

Anyhow thats my story
