New / Second Cylinder Head

I made the mistake of taking my IS200 to my regular garage for a service. 6 months down the line the engine management light is flashing like disco light. The short of the story is, according to Lexus, whoever replace the sparke plugs knackered the thread on the sparke plug and therefore knackered my Head Cylinder. Lexus being Lexus is asking for £2500 to replace it, excuse me while i pick my jaw off the floor i thought. They then confessed £2100 would be labour costs, i nearly fell off my chair as i thought, i should be a mechanic. I have no intention of letting the garage off scott free and am seeking damages but i fear it will be a long drawn out process. For the moment i just want to get the car back on the road so I can enjoy driving it again.

Anyway, so what i was thinking is, if i was to go to smaller garage, how much could i expect to pay for the cylinder head if purchased online and how many hours labour could it take and cost?

crikey - thats not good. Personally I would take it up with the garage that serviced it, I presume they were the ones that changed the plugs?

A little odd that it took 6 months to show an error though? Hope you can get it all sorted soon.
