Knock Sensor Changeout

 Share

Recommended Posts

I currently own a 1997 Lexus LS 400. Recently the check engine light turned on, once I checked it out the code indicates an issue with the knock sensor. I'm not to familiar with the anatomy of this vehicle so I'm seeking help from other Lexus owners.Currently I have more questions than answers, any insight to the following questions will be greatly appreciated.

Where is the knock sensor located? Do I need to remove the manifold intake to access the knock sensor?

Can someone provide procedures to replace the knock sensor myself? I will check the electrical connections to make sure it is not a faulty connection.

Thanks
