Rx 450H Ev Mode Error

I have a brand new (2 weeks) RX 450h. I'm pleased with it (though switching between two Bluetooth phones is a pain), but I have a problem in activating the EV mode. The manual states it won't work at speeds above (I think) 25mph, but in my case even if I am stopped or moving at extremely slow speeds, it tells me that the speed is too fast, and the EV mode won't start.

Has anyone else come across a problem like that?

I think when the car thinks you are accelerating too much/ pressing pedal too hard it will switch out of ev MODE.

Also, rememebr, yours is brand new and needs to be run in. It is possible it might get less sensitive over time. Enjoy the car - surely you didn't buy a 2.5+ tonne car for its economy? ;)
