I will at some point finally buy a used RX400h, but i am not sure whether to go for an SE or SE-L, i do however like my music in the car

and just wanted to know the sound quality defferences between the pioneer unit(SE) and the Mark Levinson as this could swing me for the better specced model.

Thanks

...... and whichever model you go for make sure the CD player 'actually' works, these units have a habit of failing (faulty changer mechanism) and Lexus want around £1K+ for a new one or around £500 for an 'authorised' repair...... as I'm finding out trying to get our RX's faulty unit sorted!.

I thought the ML only came on the SE-L? It really comes down to how important you find audio quality I guess so have a listen to both if you're not sure. The standard system is very good, but the ML blows it away.

There are lots of things I don't like about my Rx400h SE-L. Most of them practicality and cost based but.. the ML stereo does sound great. The stereo is quite old tech (just 6 changer CD and FM radio) but the sound quality is extremely good and it can be turned up to a VERY high volume without distortion etc.

The SE offers options such as ICE and MM - both of which are standard on the SE-L. You don't however get the Woodpack option on the SE, that is exlcusively SE-L only though.
