hi,

i need some help with tyre wear problem.

RX 400h bought as demo with 1,000 miles on clock. at 6,000 miles severe wear on outer edge of front left tyre meant i had to replace. now at 16,000 miles the front RIGHT tyre has gone exactly the same. wear on the outer edge. at this stage the left is starting to show a little uneven wear.

the car was checked by the main dealer and 2 independent tyre dealers for alignment tracking balance etc. the main lexus dealer has the most sophisticated system in the country. all said they could find no significant problem.

when starting off on fine gravel or smooth concrete (underground car parks) although the wheel is on full lock it feels as if the car is trying to drive straight on and that the tyres are skidding as they try to bite into the turn. on smooth concrete a squealing noise can sometimes be heard. ( i have experienced this type of feeling on an agricultural tractor with the diff. lock on where again the tractor tried to drive straight even though the steering wheel was turned full lock) any ideas anyone?

thanks
