How Often Do You Change The Engine Oil

How often do you Guys change the Engine Oil on a is220d, on my last car I did it every 6 months and on the 12th Month I would do it again and change the Oil Filter ect...... What do you think please let me know, Cheers

I change every 15.000kms, which is approximately once in a year. I do always change also the oil filter.

With you on that one Matus, its just that this is my first diesel ever i've always gone for petrol and done the Oil every six month, thanks for the feed back though.

if you race, tow heavy loads, or do short drives when the engine doesn't warm up at all, then it makes sense to change it after 6 months, but otherwise I don't think it is worth.

Manufacturers recommendation is 30.000km or 2 years, so doing it after 15.000kms/1 year is very reasonable.

Thats a good point Matus, think I will stick to 12 month, is it worth taking it to the dealers for the annual service or is to dear??

I don't think they do some extra work on it than standard things...
