Engine Cutting Out- Help!

My Lexus IS200 has lately taken to cutting out on me, initially it fires up again no trouble but cuts straight out. After a couple of times it will return to normal. At future intermittent periods the problem continue. A friend advised me it may be to do with my fuel filter so ive changed that but it hasnt solved it. Any suggestions?

How old is the Battery in your key fob? Mine had a spate of doing the same thing and when I started using the spare key it was fine. Changed the Battery in the original one and haven't had a problem since.

Thanks, i have already tried the spare key but no luck. Ive heard a small clicking in the passenger footwell on ignition? do you think this is relevant to the problem?

Hmm not sure. If you haven't done so already you might want to check and replace the air filter and plugs if necessary.
