Rx300 Audio Display Not Working

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have a 2003 MK2 RX300 SE-L with the Premium Mark Levinson Audio Navigation system, anyway enough bragging. I just purchased this car so I'm not sure on the history of the fault however, the radio works and I can control the volume knob on the dash and on the steering wheel. I can scan stations on the steering wheel but not on the dash. The CD is just not working, so it won't let me load or select CD to even take it off the radio setting.

The dash where the radio station graphics normally appear just show a white lit background and nothing else so I have to wait for the radio dj to tell me what station I'm on if I move to other broadcasts.

I want to avoid taking this into my Lexus Stealership as I'm sure they will take a deep breath and then make up some loony figure to just take a look so I have an independent audio specialist taking a look first.

Has anyone else seen this problem before? I do not see any errors as there is no screen.

Many thanks

Paul.

I don't know what the problem is per se, but it may be worth ruling out poor connections at the back of the unit before doing anything else. Sorry if that sounds obvious or you have already done it. If you haven't, pulling the radio out is a fairly straightforward job. I would be tempted to pull all the cables off, then refit them, then give it a try. If that does not work, then it sounds like the head unit may have developed a fault. Fingers crossed that you get it sorted out to your satisfaction.
