Is250 Auto Running Costs

Hi guys (newbie here),

I’m thinking of buying my first IS250MM auto from an approved dealer on a 57 plate with 30,000 on the clock.

I’m a little unsure as to what the running costs of the vehicle are, most of my driving is town driving (but, not nose to tail city centre) and dual carriageways at 40 mph, I’m easy on the pedals. What mpg do most of you get, reading the forums, it’s anything between 22 and 35 mpg, which is a big difference ?

Servicing costs are coming out at £230, £400, £600 for the 40, 50 and 60,000 miles at a dealer (with a 10% to 15% LOC gold discount).

Sytner’s 5+ silver and gold services are £100 and £200 respectively (they are not quite the same as the Lexus service, so the service stamp is not provided).

The Lexus Essential care service, is £120 and £250 respectively (not sure if the stamp is always provided unless you have extra work, fluid and filter changes on top etc). Any thoughts on this guys ? Any of you recommend a cheaper specialist in the West Mids, or best to stay away from them ? Any dealers cheaper and better in the Midlands ?

Tyres seem to much cheaper at the Blackcircles then dealers, however, Costco members can get them even cheaper (Bridgestone and Michelin only). When Costco have their special offers available a couple of times a year with 20% off, 225 and 245 on 17” rims, they were working out at just over £500 a full set fitted with nitrogen.

I know the cars are bullet proof, but, my concern is that, it is such a complex car that when thing go wrong, it will cost an arm and leg the older it gets. Would any of you suggest buying the extended warranty on the vehicle or is it not worth it ?

Are there any common faults that develop with the IS250MM auto, any recalls that I need to be concerned about ?

Would appreciate any feedback from owners, good or bad before I buy the car.

Regards

Hello

There was a recall on the second generation IS for a Rear View mirror vibration and a mounting recall for the centre speaker in the dash. Im not sure which models were affected but a Family member had their 2007 220d recalled for these issues.
