Hello,

I am currently running at the rear 245 R17 45 and its now time to replace it after 2 yrs. I was thinking of putting the slightly wider 255 R17 45.

Has anyone put the 255 in the rear on the stock OEMs and I just wanted to know if it will a good fit ? Would it rub the inside arches?

Cheers.

The tyres will fit OK, but as well as the slightly wider tyre the overall diameter will be 9mm bigger than the originals. Most manufacturers recommend a +/- 2.5% tolerance so you will still be within that as they will be +1.38%.

However, unlike the RWD IS250, the AWD IS had the same width tyres all round. I do not know what effect wider and bigger diameter tyres on the rear (only) will have on the set-up or handling of your car.
