Hi, please can someone point me in the right direction. I have a IS220D 2006. When I have the headlight switch to Auto and then turn off the engine and lock the car and leave , if it is dark the lights stay on , permenently. The same happens if I have the lights turned on t manual and when I shut off and leave. they stay on, even if the car is switched off and locked?? surely this cant be normal. Every other car I have ever driven turns the ligts off when the ignition is off? Can anyone help . thanks,

I think on mine when Lights are on auto, and ignition is turned off the lights stay on but they turn off when the driver door is opened. is your door sensor working fine?

also on some models there is a "see home" version, so the lights remain on for a few minutes after you leave the car so you can have enough light to light up your drive while you look for keys etc

The "see me home" feature is only available on the USA spec cars not the UK models for some strange reason. Their manuals state that you can choose between the following when the lights are set to AUTO and the drivers door is opened;

a. having the lights switch off immediately

b. a 15 sec delay

c. a 30 sec delay

d. a 60 sec delay

Ours seem to be set on a) having the lights switch off immediately with no option to have this altered by our dealers

So in answer to The Fly's question, I would say that this is not normal.

Thanks for the replies. Mine definately stay on when I turn off engine and leave teh car and lock it and walk away. ??? no matter what on mode the lights are in. I thought there may be an option switch somewhere to have tehm on for set times and its been moved to hours rather than seconds?? Thanks
