Hi Guys

I need a new spare key for my IS250 F Sport, so a quick email to my local Lexus dealer and they come back with a wopping great quote of £319.00 ( OK, it includes programming and VAT ).

Now I know 'times is ard' for car dealers but £319.00 !! - I only want the key, not a new car.

Anybody got any good ideas ?

That price is probably about par for the course - it's a seller's market as I doubt that there's anywhere else you can go to get a reliable duplicate key. Please post back if you do find an alternative source as I suspect that others might be interested.

Further to my post above, the US Lexus Club site has a query about a new key for an IS250 and indicates that a Lexus dealer wanted a total of the equivalent of £150 for a new, programmed key. Add 20% for UK VAT and that's getting close to £200.

I think you need to have both cars and the car there to synchromize the lot. At least that is what I was told some time ago when a friend lost one of his keys. I recall him saying it was expensive.
