Newbie In Cornwall With Is200 Sport

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I have just become the proud owner of a Black Sport with the Beige Leather/Alcantara Interior. 1999 with 148000 miles, but still smooth as to drive. Couple of questions if I can though.

1: The CD player appears to have 6 discs inside it and an ERR3 message, is it knackered?

2: There appears to be a budgie or similar sounding small bird noise coming from the NS Front when driving, only occasionally mind.

3: The engine management light came on, stayed on for about 4 days, but today went out. Any similar experience? Or has the bulb gone? 😊

4: does anyone know where I can find a drivers clutch footrest? It's missing for some reason.

Other than that, I love it. Gave it a polish the other day and the black paint is gleaming! Don't see many around so it's getting loads of admiring glances.

Thank you all, Ray

Welcome Redruthray,

The error 3 as you have found is a common, and often terminal problem, your budgie....is probably a 'not uncommon' symptom on the 200/300 and there is info on here, recently, on the suspension section, have a good read. Have you any info on cambelt changes..again have a look via search on here on age/mileage recommendations.

Another good check is excessive tyre wear on the inner side...it's all on here.

Just bear in mind that error3, front budgies, inner tyre wear, cambelt precautions......are all normal on the 200/300, there are only a few such items on these cars

My 200/300's have never failed an MOT in ten years, she causes me no significant problems, and would have no hesitation in jumping in and driving 1000 miles right now (apart from the fact I've just got my jim-jams on !).
