Gs450H Rear Silencer Skin Corroding

Hello all, The offside rear silencer box on my GS450h has developed a small hole due to corrosion (I thought these were stainless steel?) Advised it is just the outer skin and nothing to worry about yet however am keen to prepare for what might be a big bill. Car is 2006 with 77k miles and under warranty. Has anybody else experienced similar, if so how much longer might it still be serviceable for? Also it is worth try to repair with those bandage type products and finally has anyone had to replace, if so at what cost? Thanks in advance for any advice.
