Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help enlighten me to the best/safest locations to use axle stands and trolley & bottle jacks.

I think the biggest problem is that the trolley jack has an odd plate on the lift point, like a cup with 4 segments removed. The bottle jack has a small lift point that is a 1 inch round plate and the axle stands have a 3 inch wide rectangular lift bracket with a concave section cut out of the middle!

Obviously none of the above kit seems to fit nicely anywhere under the car 😡 and certainly aren't suitable for use with the side lift points on the pinch welds listed in the manual!

The only point I can actually find is the front one but it seems to have a smooth tube that doesn't look secure when mated with the trolley jack's lift cup and I certainly would want to work under the car or with the wheels off only supported by the trolley jack for more than a couple of minutes without axle stands...

I have searched online for a while and can't come up with anything clear or as good as this guide I found for working on my Celica (pic below) - can anyone please help? I noticed a rogue mechanic has helpfully bent the rear pinch welds with his trolley jack in the past!!

Thanks in advance fellower RXers!
