  1. A Question - are blue side lights legal? Or is it just Blue LED's that are a problem? (I brought a set of ultra white bulbs from ebay which included blue sides and have passed a MOT today with them fitted, they do appear blue)
  2. I had aftermarkets on my IS when I first purchased and all was fine. Then after having new tyres I had problems similar to yours - turned out that the fast fit firm misplaced one of the spigot rings (and kindly did not mention this to me) Took weeks to figure this out (In fact Tony at WIM did) Once replaced all was ok, Good luck!
  3. I going to need to get my wheels refubished soon and have always thought that silver alloys on a Platinum Ice car does not look quite right. I am thinking about having them refubished and coloured in Plat Ice rather than normal silver (if possible). Anyone else done this? Got any pictures? Cheers JonnyB
  4. Or if like me you want to keep the 'oem' look try going direct to : - Autosound Ltd Telephone: +44 (0) 1274 688990 E-Mail: sales@autosound.ltd.uk I paid £329 including VAT and return delivery and took about 10 days. The whole CD mechanisum is changed!
  5. I have an acrobat plugin that converts to RTF (commercial product), it's not fantastic as it converts each line of text into word text boxes... If you want to sent me the source pdf I will run it through for you
  6. Yeah, could be that the Tezza dash is different finish from the UK ones? It was just the difference in colour between the dash tray and the air-con control panel that worried me, in that it does look quite different in the photo. I brought the Dash Tray from ad77 See image fitted in my lex (phone camera so not great) the colour match between the dash tray and aircon unit is fine no noticable difference. If you want some better quality pics send me a pm. Cheers Jon.
  7. My drivers window button (the word Auto) and the white dot by the mirror controls do, not very bright tho. I have still not got the hang of the window button positions and am forever opening the rear one rather than the front one!!!
  8. Thanks for the reply! I will look into getting the bulbs replaced.
  9. Now it's getting dark earlier I have noticed that my TRC, Snow and Headlight level adjuster buttons/switches are not illuminated. Is this normal or do I have some blown bulbs?
  10. TomTom Mobile (downside you need a phone it supports) but an excellent solution, can use speed camera database (no need for a B2), poi overlays for Mc d's etc... I use it with an spv c500 screen is big enough and volume levels fine You take it with you when you get out of the vehicle (well it's your phone!!) - Recently used it in Spain and was spot on (required Spanish map) Also on the plus side can use it when out walking, biking, or even in a mates car (gps unit size of a swan vesta box) Link
  11. Are you sure about Lexus Hatfield? When I put my private plates on back in June I got Lexus Hatfield to make up my plates with the taller rear, I remember it well as I had to make two trips (needed v5, driving licence, and a utility bill before they would do them) They even gave me some double-sided sticky tape to save drilling :D Good luck JonnyB
  12. Hello! I also have a 99SE (had it a month now) I was also initially concerned about clutch judder, and mine has had a new clutch, I found it was just a case of getting used to the amount of revs to give when pulling away... After a week didn't notice it at all, enjoy your new motor :winky:
  13. Ah so that is what they are called 'spigot rings'! I found someone on ebay @ £18.99 each which seems quite expensive? Does this sound about right?
  14. Just got back from seeing Tony (Wheels-inmotion) for a full geometry. Wow what a difference the car glides along now and no vibration what so ever... Tony is very knowledgeable explained what he was doing and is a genuinely nice guy! Aside of the geometry tweaks it turned out (as expected) all four wheels were out of balance: - NSR by 30gm OSR by 15gm NSR by 25gm OSR by 15gm Also all four tyres were over inflated (I guess I should have checked after they were fitted by the other company - who won't be getting any business from me in the future) Tony also spotted that both my front alloys (Fondmetal 6500’s Linky) were missing the 'centre spacer' (not sure the technical term - circular green clip that fits in the wheel centre) back ones labelled 'PA 60.1 67.1'. If anyone has any idea where I can get these from it would be appreciated. Tony if you are reading, I checked the front wheel nuts when I got back and were ok - see you in 2k miles for the fine tune. Jon.
  15. I went to a third tyre place yesterday to get mine balanced and these guys knew what they were talking about. At some point because of the wheel balancing being out one of the tyres had deformed. As they spun it you could see the centre line of the tread wobbling from side to side. This meant that you would always get vibration from that tyre no matter how much it was balanced. Here's who they are. Figured they were worth a mention. Hoping they can sort it completely. They have two new tyres on order for me and I'm gonna get them to check the wheel alignment too as the front ones had worn on the inside (Lexus dealers did the wheel alignment last time). Feltham Tyre Centre 414 Farnham Road Slough 01753 530021 ← Hi, Thanks for the info and glad you have got yours sorted out. I am booked into STS (Wheels-inmotion.co.uk) this morning for a full geometry and also to check out the balancing problem. Based on what I have read here I sure this will get the problem sorted for me.
  16. Wow thanks for the quick answer, this really is a great forum :D I'll give the local fitter (Leighton Buzzard) one more chance, but am desperate to get it sorted, I have only had the car a couple of weeks and am loving it! Brackley,Northamptonshire? Not to far about 35 miles...
  17. Will this be only down to balancing? I have just had 4 Kumho Ku31's fitted (just brought the car and could not stretch to 4 Pirelli’s/Dunlop’s) Kumho Info I am having similar vibration problems, I have been back and had the wheels re-balanced three times now (the balancing machine had been re-calibrated before the last check) and am still getting vibrations... Not sure what to try next??? ← It's pretty much always balancing mate ← Thanks for the info guys! I'll take it back again on Monday, failing that anyone know if there is a tyre firm that uses the 'stud plate' in beds/bucks/herts? Cheers

  19. Hello all! I just traded my A4 for an IS200 after wanting one for many years, I must say I am really chuffed with all the toys and the performance, but had been concerned about the 1st to 2nd shift and also the noise in these gears which I can only liken to an Austin Mini... I am relieved to know I am not the only one, is this a ‘feature’ (like the flaky alloy’s) or should I be concerned? Good job the stereo is so good I guess I will just turn it up a bit more.
