  1. Any of you guys use talktalk as your broadband IPS. wow what a bunch of jerks on the customer service / tech support lines . my father-in- law has been waiting 7 weeks to get the adsl working (I have given up talking to India ) what the best service provider of broadband you know ????? cheers swager
  2. Just about to order IS 250 se-l auto as company car - have owned our Is 250 se-l auto for some 15 months and very please with performance and mpg and all the extras - had to get another one as the wife always has the keys !!!!!!!! cheers swager
  3. Nope...can't duplicate it either Guy's, If you pump the brake pedal without the engine running you will fill the servo's full of fluid, pedal will feel rock hard, Not a fault at all, thats just the way servos work. Next time your out for a lavish take away, keep your foot of the brake pedal, and you should be fine. hope you enjoyed your supper Basha Hi Basha yep good super only trouble was the smell of the old salt and vin the next day ,as for the hard brake pedal dont totally agree with you as I had this problem last year when leaving the limo at Bristol airport for two weeks and had the same problem on return (solid brake pedal ) and also think its an engineering design issue .A good design always takes away any problem that the consumer or customer can cause .as this is a key area that is needed to start the car the this is a problem waiting to happen and as this was only three light depresses of the brake pedal .On other makes of car I agree this action will raise the pedal but they still let you depress the pedal with little force and pedal will sink .Thats enough small talk over engineering design ,was only thinking of the other half as she drives it and if this had happened to her the R.A.C would have had a call out. thanks for all you comments cheers swager.
  4. Hi Dudes all you auto owners have you ever had this happen, treated the other half to fish and chips on Friday and was playing around with the windows (let the smell out )/DVD /satnav /phone so was switching ignition on and off several times without starting up the engine .After finishing our lavish supper tried to start the limo and no go as the brake pedal was solid and I could not depress it enough to let the micro switch engauge .I had to push it very hard to get the limo to start - good job it was me and not the other half as she would not have had the strength to push the brake pedal as hard as needed.try it for yourself and pump the pedal a few times before starting ??????????? and see if you get the same condition as I get . cheers swager
  5. No Dude you are not alone Black with oakham interior (love it ) back to thread nice one -enjoy the limo and enjoy keeping those front wheels clean !!!!!!!!!!- what was the TT like to live with
  6. Hi guys, looking at buying a road angle plus ,is the IS fitted with a UV Reflect windscreen. cant find the info on Lexus web site of in handbook cheers swager
  7. Hi Jambo, I did test drive the sport last year and found the gear change not be as smooth as i would like - also no leather seats (can live with that)- ride was very firm compaired to the IS250 se-l. As for company car tax not to worried as dividends will take care of that (should be thinking green I know but will try harder in other areas ).My main concernerns are the fact that many of the problems and grips on our IS forum are 220D related and I did not want to go down the route of my last Lexus RX 300 se-l .Thanks for comments and will have a good test drive in the oil burner first . cheers swager
  8. dont like saying this but BMW - MERC - or off the wall the new Ford cheers swager
  9. Hi Dudes owned the Is250 se-l auto for just over a year now with no major problems to date - one small intermittent rattle new wiper blade that is still causing the blade to judder across the screen ,very pleased with it after the many problems i had with my RX300 se-l. Just in the procces of looking for two company cars for myself and co director ,as the business is now on its feet and spare cash is available to enjoy its time for the Pug to go. question : is the IS 220 D that bad and the fact that no auto box is available should I look at the other two manufactures . would welcome your views and comments. cheers swager
  10. Hi Nubee, its all about the feel good facror ,I test drove them all BMW MERCs JAG when I had to dump the RX and Lexus brand was out in front. After having the IS 250 se-l auto for a days test drive I was sold ,then had the chance of a used 55 plate black with beige oakham interior and as Bristol operate the Saturday wash club its no problem keeping it clean .I also had a set of black mats througn in with the super deal I had .Love all the gadgets with the sat nav great (also run tom tom in my company car and I am always worried it will be nicked ).The wife just loves the car ,easy to drive and park with the parking sensors and camara working well along with the bluetooth hands free. With the petrol we average between 27-29 around town with the wife driving and can get up to 39-41 on motorway runs ,also the auto fall into the cheaper road tax bracket then the manual.I am just in the procces of upgrading my company car and I know I will go for the IS 250 se-l auto even though I own one for my person use . cheers swager
  11. did what you are thinking of doing and purchased from main dealer ,had the rx for 10 months and then had to get rid problems are as follows 1 in 4 times for brake issues (pedal sinking to floor) 2 main drive train replaced (clunk noise on overrun) 3 more rattles then a bag of nuts and bolts. 4 front tyres wearing on inner edges. 5 at the time used values were sinking like a stone traded in for IS250 auto great car and not a single problem to date. cheers swager
  12. Hi Mark , many thanks for info, thought the fault was a one off ,still think it will be a fight with Bristol to get it changed .Will let you know how I get on cheers Swager

  15. Hi , will get my son to reply tonight as he is always using steam ,he and his mates have created servers and are always playing online . cheers :) swager hello, swagers son here (what a stupid name huh?) i don't know if you've tried doing anything with your router IP address because sometimes when you create a server it uses some sort of user IP for the server and not your routers if you were to go on whatsmyipaddress.com and copy and paste your ip to your friend he could copy into the in-game console and connect via this command " connect (then your ip address)" the comand works with me as i cannot join my friends server because it doesn't show up and through friends it does not respond. good luck.
  16. Hi , will get my son to reply tonight as he is always using steam ,he and his mates have created servers and are always playing online . cheers :) swager
  17. Hi All, just a quick one - how quiet is you engine on tick over . not taken much notice of the lump on tick over but of late I dont think it is that quiet 10k on the clock ,will get service to have a listen .the only reason why I have started to listen to the lump is because i had a strange rattle from the engine compartment when i fired her up last week ,sounded top end but as i had the window opoen and it was very windy i could not catch it in time .all ok to date but it did have me worried . cheers
  18. Tested both before going for the 250 se-l mm ,bad news is that I can never get my hands on the keys (wife loves it to bits begining to wonder if she thinks driving it is better then s*x ) did not go for the 220 sport because of the following person reasons 1 gear change notchy 2 no leather seats 3 performance 4 dont think its the best oil burner on the block 5 no auto box 6 gear change position (to high for the wife) the 250 has been very good and a great drive ,love playing with the sports paddle change.only a one small rattle and as the wife drives it most of the time around town i get around 23-27 mpgand on a run it can get as high as 38-42 mpg all in all a great car that I feel good in .first service 10 k £220 .only one fault to date squeeky winscreen wiper which is being replaced when i can get hold of the keys . cheers Swager
  19. Well my rx 300 sel is up for sale at the minute, but it has 19,700 miles on it and is still running the original set of Dunlops fitted from new. The fronts are totally bald on the outer edges, the nearside more so than the off side. The rest of the footprint at the front still has a bit of 'meat' left on them evenenly spread accross the tread pattern. The alignment has been checked three times by different specialists, but Lexus have told me they feel anything above 12,000 is good, 14,000 and they usually have to come off, so 19,000 is testament to how we drive the car......so they tell me! I have looked at other second hand Rx's on the forecourt and to be honest they all show signs of wear to the outer edges on the fronts, so I guess they do tend to 'scrub' the fronts somewhat. Regards Rx Mike Hi Rx Mike, yes totaly agree with you ,looks like if you own a RX you will be replacing you front tyres ever 13-15k. Still not read if the 400h has the same problem, anyway goog luck with selling your RX with the new RX350 on the forecourts and nearly new 300s at discounted prices .Sold ours some 2 monyhs ago and very pleased with our IS250 AUTO MM..Just got back from our hols in south of France and hired Audin A6 and was glad to hand it back. cheers swager
  20. Nice purchase! I'm interested to know what your sat nav upgrade entailed - is it a later software version? I got mine from Lexus Bristol and Dave the sales guy didn't know about the sat nav upgrade... He did however know about the seatbelt problem, which was done yesterday (free champagne and £20 fuel for my trouble)! Hi evilweasel Free Champers and fuel Lexus Bristol must be going soft ??????? Yes very pleased with the purchase,I had the seat belt recall and was told it had the sat nav upgrade done before collection (think its new DVD disc.).I will call and ask what the upgrade was as I need to talk to service regarding a possibleproblem the throttle sticking (has only happened when the wife drives hmmmmm) as I do not think it has a cable and is fly by wire. Do any of the other Lexus dealerships offer free car wash on a saturday morning its great as I have a black IS 250. CHEERS Swager
  21. Hi you guys, just a quick line to let you know my thoughts on the first two week of running our IS 250 AUTO SEL MM reg 23/12/2005 2900 miles. all ok just a few issues, the pertol filler door is as loose as a -rick in a shirt sleeve very surprised that it does not have some sort of spring to hold in the open position.service said that the door is in tolerance and they can do nothing as that will damage the paint .I tried a few around the showroom and they were fine hmmmmmmmm I hope I dont have to fight them like I did with my troublesome 53 RX300sel.Seatbelt recall done plus sat nav upgrade. As for the rattles I fear the worse as It looks like they are starting to happen and I know that they never managed to stop the various rattles on our RX300 but I hope with strength of the LOC topics I can put pressure on service to sort out. The good points are 1 great drive (great gearbox unlike my RX300) 2 goes like a bat out of hell 3 love the MM 4 could carry on for a long time but will not bore you with the details. cheers swager.
  22. Hi all you petrol heads, just a quick line to let you know how please I am with our nearly new IS 250 SE L AUTO MM and the wow factor you get when driving this black sexy limo.I pick her up last week with a great hand over from Lexus Bristol. No problems to date ,only one is trying to get the keys off of wife.PX the RX 300 SEL due to many problems and other issues and I know it is a very different type of car and drive but it is my type of car and the RX was here indoors choice.Had test drive in BMW and Audi and they came second . Oh yes some low life has nicked my chrome dust caps . cheers Swager :D :D :D :D :D

  24. Hope its not the one I am test driving! What colour is yours? Hi Damer, Super sexy Black SE-L auto with sat nav. getting it Saturday I hope !!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. looks like you have done your homework and came to the same conclusion as I did ,but 9 months on and many problems to long to list it in my view my RX was not a good buy .If you get it for the right price and bear in mind the new rx350 being introduced it has to be a great price you should buy it and enjoy it .Make sure you get all the problems with it sorted if you have any before your warrenty runs out . cheers swager
