  1. Maz I'm afraid you'll never get an IS to sound like a subaru, unless you put a subaru engine in it. It's not their exhausts that make the noise its the flat four boxer engine. I love it too, I've been tempted to buy a scoobie may times just for the noise, but my fairer half wont let me Anyone got, or know anyone with the Blitz backbox from TDi? Just wonderin if it sounds any good? It aint too expensive and looks good.
  2. I was thinkin about the HKS Hiper someone else said it sounded sweet. I aint bothered about it being big, I aint tryin to be subtle. Got any pics of it on the car? where'd you get it and how much?
  3. HA HA readin this just made me chuckle. I had the same problem, I was fearing the worst, imagining expensive problems, then my mate said ' have you checked your brake lights?'. In the end it was just a bulb a whole £3 to replace what a tit I felt
  4. Right here goes, time to open a can of worms. I'm lookin for a new exhaust, I want it to sound real sweet and loud but not like them boy racers in their saxo's. I want it to sound loud and throaty and powerfull. I want people to turn round and say 'dude that sounds awesome' not 'what the ****** is that noise'. So go on peeps give me your opinions and tell me where I can get them and how much they'll skin me. cheers :D
  5. I've had the same problem, I reckon its the caliper pins, i had them taken off cleaned and some copper grease put on them and the noise stopped. the noise has come back now so I,ve bought new pins from the dealer, it was a bout 35quid for the full set. aint fitted them yet cause i'm in canada on holiday but I thinkin it should remedy it. I'll let you know once I've fitted them prob next week when I get back.
  6. I got the TRD one from pro lex. Makes a noticable difference, nothin amazin but noticable, power curve feels much smoother. :D
  7. They e-mailed me back it was price each! sneaky sods! I might still get them cause that still makes them just over 160 for the pair which aint too bad.
  8. I've E-mailed them to find out. If it ends up being price each then I reckon I'll just go for the set from pro lex, not DBA but you get the full set of 4 discs and mintex pads all round for 300 odd quid, good deal if you ask me. Anyone got these, any reviews? :duh:
  9. If you dont mind me askin how much did you guys pay for yours, coz the tdi price looks really cheap thats why I think it is each rather than a pair, they're sayin 80 odd quid!
  10. I'm thinkin about going for the DBA 4000s from tdi, does anyone know if they are any good, and is the price on their site each or a pair?
  11. cheers folks, usefull knowledge i'll be shoppin real soon. :)
  12. Just lookin for some knowledge, I've spotted a set of wheels I really want, only trouble is I can only get em with a 40mm offset, they are 7.5x18 inches, would tehy stick out too much? anyone else got wheels with the same offset, any pics? cheers. :duh:
  13. I have same problem too!!! Mine was i both sides, and under the spare wheel, I drained it and it slowly re filled over time, dunno how it gets in there! B)--> QUOTE(Hank B @ Dec 20 2006, 09:50 PM) ← I have same problem too!!! Mine was i both sides, and under the spare wheel, I drained it and it slowly re filled over time, dunno how it gets in there! And I dont have a sunroof on mine so it cant be anythin to do with that!!!! :duh:
  14. I just got mine replaced as one was shagged, i got standard replacement parts, they're red! so sorry to shatter your illusion, the standard replacements are red. :duh:
  15. hi mate, There exactly the same make (KYB) as the originals. So id say standard replacements! They come as a matching pair when bought and i'd say £108 delivered for a set, isnt a bad price at all. Now if you just want one to get you through Your MOT i have a spare drivers side that you can have. Then after the MOT get your self a nice set coilovers. PM me if you want the shock. Martyn :winky: Cheers for the offer bud, it's ok though, my mot aint for a couple of months so I should be able to save enough for a set by then. I hope! :D
  16. The best body kit is, by far, the Elixer kit,(see my pic) but have fun trying to source one. I gave up trying to find it, I found it on Jap websites, but since I cant read a word of japanese i was up the creek with no paddle
  17. Treats, are those uprated shocks or just standard replacements? Definately a better price than I had thought! :)
  18. It's definately leakin fluid so it's def the shock. The handling on the car is terrible so I was gonna go for coilovers any way, just couldn't really afford to. Now I have an excuse though! :D
  19. My front shocks are goosed, I'd been hearing a knocking noise for a while and having read other threads I thought it was the strut top. But i took her in for a checkup and the doc says my drivers side shock is bust and the passenger side will be sure to follow. who thinks I should just bin them and get a nice set of coilovers??
  20. Dung, they dont have it, and holy cack, did you see the prices of some of their stuff! I could buy a factory and make it my self for that!!!
  21. I'll give them a try but I cant read jap! and my pc wont translate it neither! DUDE, its in english! Cheers, you have just made me happy and my credit card sad!
  22. There must be someone who can get me one over here? I'd buy it off one of the Jap web sites but I cant read the bloomin things, just look at the pics!
  23. Someone out there must know where I can get the Elixir kit from? It's the nicest kit I've seen but I cant find anyone who sells the damn thing! :duh:
