  1. Well i had two TOYO TR 1's put on the front yesterday, and wow what a difference! No more "tram lining" no more veering into the kerb. Unbelievably smooth, bit more harsh on some bits of road, but didn't realise how bad the Bridgestones were. The garage put in 33psi as they said it wasnt worth ruining a luxury car with the harder ride that 36psi would bring. I've put them on 35 to see how it goes.

  2. I tried a copy of a copy of the latest SatNav DVD in my car this morning and it got stuck in the unit. Kept trying to spit it out, but it wouldn't come. Quick trip over to Lexus Wolverhampton ( very nice people ) but they couldn't help as they had never had this problem before. Looked like a mega-bucks job. Drove home thinking how to explain to the wife, her costing £200 for a new rear tyre would be nothing compared to this. Tried my LOS Gold Members Card and managed to flip the rogue disc out, straight in the bin. Old one back in and we're all hunky dorey. Don't try it, its cheaper to buy an upgrade. Phew!!!!!!!

  3. Auto is smoother,faster & more economical,mine has now done 20k. & mpg averages c. 33.5 which is excellent.

    Tel.

Oh well, my rougher, slower Sport only averages 30mpg. So go for the IS250 Sport Auto, and have the best of both worlds. :winky:

  4. Yes we found it handled better than any model we tested, in fact the first test drive of the new 250 lasted only an hour as we found the ride not up to the level of our IS200SE. We took the cars over known problem stretches of roads in and around Telford before we settled on the Sport. Some say the ride is hard, and yes it is compared to the IS200, but overall the bigger wheels and lowered suspension suit us better. IMHO.

  5. It has something to do with "futures markets", where people guess the price of a barrel for delivery in a months time. Unfortunately this seems to be that the futures markets are now dictating what it will cost. Someone (apart from the chancellor) is making a lot of money at out expense.

  6. Hello all and nice to be part of the forum.

Not yet an IS250 owner but would like to know the merits of either manual or auto boxes please on an IS250. I have driven both on test drives and found the clutch take up very high on the pedal for the manual.

Is this normal across all IS250 manuals?

    Thanks

    Martin

I suppose the obvious difference is the lower CO2 emissions from the auto, hence less TAX. We tested about every combination possible before buying the 250 Sport, that was for the better road holding and we both prefer a manual box. You need to decide if you like auto or manual, a very personal choice. Have not noticed any high clutch travel on any i have driven.

  7. We had 6 years of great motoring with the IS200 and it turned heads wherever it went, i think due to the Platinum Ice looking stunning. Now we have moved on, got a bit older and have had a year with the 250 Sport, it also turns heads, again the great looking Mesa red. But i dont compare the two models as they are totally different aminals. The IS200 alwasys felt short of power, the 250 doesn't. You pays your money etc. etc.

  8. If leather is top of your shopping list, then it has to be the SE or SE-L model, the Sport has Cellensia (sort of suede). We get about 30 mph around the town, 35 on a good run. The £400 tax is a kick in the teeth from Mr Browns gang of muggers! But its only money. Try as many models as poss, we took a year before deciding on a petrol Sport, didnt like the diesel or the auto, but there are many happy owners of those models in the club. 18" alloys on the lowered suspension look better than the 17s' INHO. And of course Mesa Red is the dogs ******** :winky:
