  1. I finally put my deposit down yesterday. I ordered a new IS220d Sport in Cadoxton Slate and Lipari beige interior. Due on 13th May. Needless to say I cannot wait! I have owned an old IS and GS and I was well impressed with the test drive. I am not going to name names but I managed to get over £2000 off. Dealer said diesel sales were slow and that I only got that size of discount because it was a diesel. So if you're in the market for a diesel, big discounts are available ;-)
  2. I have a couple of queries which regards to the IS220d Sport compared to standard IS220d:- The final drive ratio of the standard is 2.47 but the sport is 3.20. I know this has something to do with the gearing but what difference will that mean in reality? I know 6th gear is very long on the standard and can't be used below 70mph, does this mean you could use 6th earlier in the Sport? Also how come the mpg is different, is this down to the gearing? Its quite alot different aswell, about 5 mpg on the combined cycle... Hope someone can clear these up for me. Cheers,
  3. Thanks everyone. I'm pleased that the standard stereo sounds like a good'un. All I need now is to find out for sure whether an IS250 Sport auto will become available.....
  4. I do want to believe you :winky: I have E-Mailed my dealer.
  5. I asked Lexus GB, here is the answer:- "Thank you for contacting Lexus GB. Lexus GB have as yet not confirmed whether they are considering releasing an automatic IS 250 Sport or an automatic IS 220d. Please confirm whether you wish me to add your details to our newsletter mailing list to receive the latest news in the world of Lexus. If I can be of any further assistance, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards,"
  6. Cheers thats good to know. I'm no audophile but expect a certain quality. I too have all my CD's ripped to mp3 at 192kbps so its good that sound is still good :winky:
  7. I was this close to ordering a manual I'll see what they say......if its true, fantastic!
  8. Cheers but TBH, I still can't justify the extra price. I'm not too bothered about the bluetooth phone, rear parking sensors are adequate for me, I can't see the point of being able to watch DVD's when parked? I only watch DVD's occasionally at home let alone when parked...and voice activation doesn't bother me. Each to their own, but its not for me, for the price. Anybody with the standard stereo who can let me know the quality?
  9. Is this true? Are they going to do the sport with an auto for the UK, if so I may wait.......
  10. Hi, Am close to putting in my order for new IS250 Sport Just wanted to check what the standard stereo is like from people who own one. I don't use sat-nav that often and I have a Tomtom for the rare occasions I do, so can't really justify the MM upgrade. Is the standard stereo any, good? I mean 13 speakers sounds OK to me? Your honest opinon would be appreciated. Cheers,
  11. Hi, I've contacted Lexus GB about some of these issues, as I'm thinking of buying an IS220D Sport. Maybe if you have similar issues you might want to bring it up with them on the numbers provided as they don't know any issues exist! See this thread:- Lexus GB technical Contact numbers thread
  12. Yeah maybe, but I've owned diesels from new before and they haven't loosened up that much, maybe 5%, 10% max...But some of the figures on here have been scary :o
  13. Hi everyone! I have owned a couple of Lexi over the years and am currently looking at getting a new IS220d Sport when its released. I am, however, concerned about some of the issues raised on here (I've been a reader for ages) notibly the poor fuel economy and sixth gear only being available from an indicated 75mph. I have therefore spoken to someone from Lexus GB Technical, and logged my concerns from a potential customer. For the record, they were unaware of any issues! So I suggest if enough people speak to them they may become aware... Here are the numbers if you have concerns over the poor economy or gearing. Lexus Technical 0906 6610062 Lexus Head Office 01737 363634 Only if they realise there is a problem, can they do something about it.
