  1. Well here she is, sitting lower and pretty. I've been told to wait a few days before attempting to get the geometry and alignment work done.
  2. Coilovers successfully installed. The instructions on the main website aren't the best as lots of problems cropped up which aren't even mentioned. But after a lot of head scracthing and sore knuckles, all done. I'll post up the picturs later. Thanks for the help and advice guys. By the way, I did have to seperate the balljoint as there was no way the damper and springs were going to come out with the wishbone in the way.
  3. Yes, coilovers. And yes, I meant the front. In the instructions it says I need a balljoint splitter, which I bought yesteday, to split the upper wishbone. So this is a unecessary step in the instructions? Also, I'll book myself into a alignment centre recommended by Mr. Morse on another thread. Nottingham 4 Wheel Alignment Centre.
  4. Hey all, tomorrow I'll be attempting to fit some TEIN coilovers to my IS200. I'll be following the instructions found on the main website. I'm a novice at mechanical work, however I feel quite confident it doing the work myself. My two questions are: 1. How do I replace the upper wishbone? Does it just press together easily or will I need some sort of tool to press them together? 2. The ABS sensor, how does it unclip? Just pull it off or is there another method. I know these questions seem a little stupid, but I jut want to be sure beforehand. Thanks in advance.
  5. That may explain why I didn't find this gadget on the Prolex-UK website. But I've emailed Prolex-UK anyway, to try my luck. Anyone know of any second hand AUX adapters for sale? :)
  6. 4 minutes. That was a quick reply haha. Thank you. :D
  7. Hello all, I would like to know what inputs and outsputs, if any, are at the back of the standard factory fitted headunit found in my IS200 Sport. It's a W-reg 2000 model. Also, I know there are two different types of this headunit, so to help clarify things, my CD loading hole is at the bottom. Basically, my plan requires an input, so I can have sound from my PSP coming out of my car speakers. Thank you in advance for your help! :) PS. I did try and search the forums for the answer, but didn't find anything.
  8. I think you'll find they wouldn't let you run with it like that Oh right. I didn't know for sure. Off topic I know, but the alloys are ICW Racing Osaka Gunmetal for those that were curious.
  9. I went gold for a number of reasons: - Support this website. - Get stickers which are too dark and pointless as I have tints (I thought they went on the outside haha). - Maybe score some discounts. - So I can park up with the IS200 people at car shows. It's only £25 and I can say I spend a hell of a lot of time reading on here so it's worth it. :D
  10. I get annoyed when you're stopped on a two lane road at traffic lights. You're parked up behind a car on the right lane, assuming it will go straight on as it's not indicating. But at the very last moment, it begins to indicate right. Then the lights change green and you're stuck behind it. And it doesn't matter how much gap you left yourself behind this car, no-one will let you move into the left lane to let you out. :duh:
  11. I may consider it if I went on a track day or to Santa Pod where cooling is an issue. For every day driving, I think it'll look bad. :)
  12. The light emitted is yellow I think. The actual housing is the same from all the pictures I have seen. :)
  13. That looks damn good. Nice work!
  14. Hey, welcome to the forums. The Sony headunit you mentioned is double din. Once you remove the standard headunit, it should leave a rectangular hole as well as a bit of a gap around it (shape of the standard headunit fascia). Just buy one of these... Ebay linky for fascia adapter I haven't actually changed my headunit as it works fine. But let us know how you get on. :) Adil.
  15. Oh right. I've seen it working (jacking car up) on a different make of car, so I thought the same would happen on mine. Mystery solved I guess...
  16. surely it should be on the V5C??? what do the insurance company have the car registered as?? Insurance company has it as a Sport. Also all receipts (from previous owner) from dealership has my chassis number, number plate matching my car as well as 'sport' mentioned. My question was more about the LSD... if I have one, shouldn't both wheels turn in the same direction if turned by hand? :D
  17. After reading the thread about 'How can I tell if my car is a Sports model or an SE?' I decided to go have a close look at my car. I bought my 2000 (W-reg) IS200 Sport about a month back and since then have just driven it without really looking too closely at what I had. Looking at the list of criterias I need to have on my car to make it a Sport model, I can say I have most of them. But just to be sure, I did two experiments to check whether I had an LSD or not. 1. I jacked up the rear of the car and took off the handbrake. I turned one of the rear wheels by hand and looked at the other. Now, from what my friend tells me (owner of Nissan 200SX) the wheels should both turn in the same direction if I have an LSD. My other wheel didn't turn. It didn't turn in the opposite direction either. 2. Found a piece of grass and launched the car. Went back to look at the mess I left and from what I can tell, both wheels spun up at the same time and both trails ended at the same point. 3. My friend did a donut in the car as I couldn't. Yes, he's the one with the 200SX... (more practice y'see). Added bit: I have lots of receipts with the car and in the receipts from work carried out by the dealership, the car is stated as a Sport - must mean it's a sport... hahah
  18. That is a very aggressive front end. Not sure about the cut out though. I guess that look is a grower.
  19. Thank you. Someone save me a space next to the IS200's please haha.
  20. Is it too late to pay up? What are the chances of being on the stand? Thank you.
  21. Okay I've paid for this pitch. However, is there a link to pay for JAE 2006 via this site or are we doing it ourselves seperately? Sorry for the silly question. :duh:
  22. I too am a Gold Member on here, but have yet to received my pack with the stickers. I'll have to wait and see if the stickers will be a problem with my tints. PS. Could I have my Gold Member permissions setup for my account? Thank you!
  23. Ah I'm glad someone asked this. The clunky gear change was beginning to worry me. But it seems all is normal. I'll still have my car checked out just in case! :)
