Also tosavetaking the dash out, what I did was cut down the pipeson the matrix, then it slides out with the dash in place, and join the cut down pipes back to the engine with rubber hose instead. works perfectly.
To drive it, there's 2 pipes that go from the engine inside the car to the matrix, just join these together to bypass the matrix andkeep the coolant system sealed.
You need to top the system up with coolant into the rad until its full, then squeeze thepipes to get the air out.
Once that's done put the rad cap on and fill the overflow tank to the line.
Check it over the next day and see if the level moves as the air bleeds out.
10mm spacers on standard bolts? Personally I'd say your risking it already. I had 6mm on the rear with my old alloys and I wasn't comfortable with that.
If your looking at this from a financial point of view then get the lex sold.
the 1gfe can handle the boost to around 0.8 - 1.0bar WITH THE RIGHT MAPPING, just dont expect it to last forever as its not built for that,
It'll handle 0.5bar all day long though. All the issues in the early day were because the cars being built were done by a particular tuner who couldnt get the mapping right and kept blowing them up.
To turbo a lexus is a thing to do if you enjoy modifying cars and want something a little different to the normal jap scene. Not because you want a financially sound project.
There is only one viable supercharger kit, that's the tte one but it's getting rarer.
Turbo is best. Google ikengineering for the manifold and downpipe etc.
Or click on my link in my sig and take some ideas.
I'm sure you could make a 2 pulse counting circuit to change the 2 pulses to one. Or just deal with the speedo being 2 as fast lol.
Is there any wiring left on the Nissan plug you could take an educated guess with? For example in the Lexus white with black stripe wires are earth, black with red stripe are 12v.
You need the wiring for the Nissan then. I imagine it'll just be a pulse, but does it need power etc,
I imagine it'll need a 12v and earth, then the third will be the signal that goes direct to the speedo.
yes its normally on the gearbox on the altezza, it actually goes through the speedo and then the ecu.
have you cut much wiring from the engine bay? check the sensor is still getting 12v
ive replied to your thread on tezzaworld mate,
the wiring diagrams can be downloaded here, there for an IS200 but arent that different:

As for the wiring it should work mate as the wirings no different to the qualitat as far im aware. both are a 4 cylinder so the rpm signal should be fine.
