  1. Those had to have been the longest two weeks of my life! Collecting the vehicle this afternoon. Something tells me I'll be using any excuse in the book to do the driving this weekend. :P ← Have you experienced a creaking noise from the front suspension when driving over speed bumps or rough roads?? ← Nothing at all, sorry.
  2. Bentley indeed. This is available on a Skoda.
  3. Welcome. Don't be shy now, can we see what you are driving? :D
  4. I believe you have to either be half way through the contract or have paid off half of the value of the debt before you can walk away. I have only had my auto for 6 days but I certainly wouldn't go back to a manual. The fast twisty A-B roads where the 6 speed box excels are now peppered with 40 and 50 MPH limits with Police hiding in bushes and Gatsos round every corner.
  5. How awful of The Sun to publish his reg. I hope no one makes false plates and drives through some speed cameras.
  6. After getting my first IS in 2003 I used to have trouble starting it. I'd jump in and just wind the key round and find that it needed a good two or three turns before it started. The advise I got from this board was to get the ignition on and leave it there for a couple of seconds, wait for some of the pre-start checks to finish and then start. No problems after that. Now I have an IS300 I find on cold mornings, (below freezing) it needs three or four cranks before the engine starts. I have mentioned it to the dealer who asked me to monitor it for the next few days to see how I get on.
  7. http://short.zen.co.uk/?id=1e7 Interesting banana effect to the wing in this one.
  8. Good to hear you are safe. Has a similar experience last night. Took the first exit from a roundabout, laid a little too much power down on a freshly salted road and ended up going sideways. Lucky the road was wide and empty enough for me to correct without hitting anything. I realise traction control is not an anti-crash button but it did nothing to help me.

  10. Hmmm, lovely. Secondhand market will be full of loaded vehicles in 3 years. :D
  11. The 7.9% will be on a finance deal and you have certain extra benefits from the consumer credit act when buying a car with finance over an unsecured personal loan. Most convenient one being after half of the loan term you can take the car back to the dealership and terminate the loan.
  12. The dealership I am using hasn't mentioned it either but I got this info from www.lexus.co.uk so maybe it's an incentive from HQ. I'm going to be ringing that number this morning.
  13. Anyone else been to www.toyota.jp and looked at the X-Body/Mark X? Is this a concept vehicle or could this be the new IS? (My japanese isn't very good). Very similar styling to the new GS on lexus.jp
  14. My bank offered me 6.6% without any fuss at all.
  15. Just spotted this pop-up on the Lexus site. January Sale Purchase any approved used Lexus before the 31st January 2005 and qualify for one of the following offers: 1.Low rate finance from 7.9%APR (conditions apply please call for details). 2.Free reversing sensors colour coded to the vehicle. 3.2 years/20000 miles free scheduled servicing. Please call us on 020-8892-2523 for full details. I'm picking my IS300 up on Friday! Very tempted by the reversing sensors, any one have them fitted? Are they worth it over the servicing?
  16. I'd prefer a weekend and even better if it's a Sunday.
  17. All depends on what time you travel. I regularly drive from Oxford to Manchester and it can take anything between 2 and 4 hours. The last hop shouldn't take more than 90 minutes. Chieveley (A34/M4) is great now the underpass is open.
  18. 240ish miles each way. Round trip on one tank of fuel :P
  19. http://short.zen.co.uk/?id=1de Easy drive from Manchester. M6/M5/M42/M40/A34/M3/M27 then a short hop on the A31.
  20. http://www.thatcham.org/resources/pdfs/compliance.pdf Listed under Toyota. (Adobe P14, Document P13)
  21. I kerbed mine recently after years of avoiding them, I just swapped it out with the spare so the damage is hidden in the boot.
  22. When you use the resume function on the cruise control does the car accelerate back to the set speed rapidly or is a light throttle settings used? Also if you set it to a certain speed does it maintain it even when doing down hill?
