  1. Got my hands on one of those line level convertors at last. It come with 5 cables: left positive/negative right positive/negative speaker ground So do i need to connect up to the wiring from both left and right factory woofer cones or just one? And do i need to connect the speaker ground cable? If so, to what? Had the amp powered on but think i blew a fuse somewhere. could miswiring of the inline converter to the factory wires blow something?
  2. No bother let me know if you get it installed successfully
  3. I would definetly get rid of that rear spoiler! Looks like its going to take off!
  4. Thanks this site only has info for is300 from 2001 on, which has different wiring. Just wanted to add a new Hu to my Rs without bypassing the external factory amp, since this gives a good sound already. But cant figure out a way to keep the factory amp in use with the new HU so i think ill just have to stop using it and upgrade the stock speakers, so i might as well replace them with better aftermarket ones and re do the wiring with better cables. I think thats easier than messing with the factory wiring, soldering and cutting stuff!
  5. but not much point if you are adding a new HU? Ive already bought one
  6. Ok so after lots of research and lots of money wasted on connectors etc just to keep the factory external amp! i think ill just re-wire the speakers So i was thinking just to buy a new 4 channel amp, stop using the factory amp, add new 6 x9's and front speakers,(have them from the old car) and run them all off the amp. I have a 2 channel amp for the 12" Raptor. A few quick questions hopefully someone can help. 1. Can anyone recommend a good 4 channel amp. Speakers i plan to use: InPhase XT62 240w(front) - and will they fit Pioneer TSA 6911 330w(rear) 2. What speaker cable should i use? 3. Best place to secure amp in boot? 4. will i need a bigger battery since ill be running 2 amps off it? 5. where can i get a 12" stealth woofer box? 6. Is there an easier way?!
  7. Whats the benefit of adding rca outputs to the factory amp? i was just looking at my factory wiring and comparing it to the is300 diagram then comparing it to the wires i have on my new HU. Basically im lost. Would it just be easier to rewire the speakers and add new amps for the speakers?
  8. Not sure how this works do you need to use one of these for each wire? And what has the cigarette lighter got to do with it?
  9. What model is your car? Does it have an external amp dehind the glove box? If this is the case its very tricky to install without bypassing trhe standard amp that all your speakers are hooked up to. You will need the facia adapter too. its a 1999 altezza rs200 Z ed havnt got the car yet its on the boat. where can i get the facia. "Suped" in off the Kylemore road in Dublin 70 Euro though. Or else try ebay. You should check for that external amp when you get it. Ive had mine nearly 2 months now and still havent got my HU installed. Looking for an option where i dont have to destroy any factory wiring, but its proving quiet difficult.
  10. Hi, only the Toyota Altezza RS200 pushes out 210bhp, and this is only when you use 100 ron fuel. Power is a lot less running it on anything lower(unleaded 95,98 etc) If you look at the engine and it has a Beams logo in red and black then its pushing out 210bhp. If not, he is lying!
  11. Already have my dash apart ill stick up pics when i get home. But once you bypass the amp i thought you have to rewire all the speakers since all the speakers go into the amp first, then from amp to HU. Do you have a part number for this inline wiring bridge. Halfords over here are quite clueless!

  13. Nooooo!!! so this loom is useless to me so. I pm'ed Fargo hopefully he will respond soon, i know he is a busy man moving house and all that! If this doesnt work, will i just have to cut off the wires i need from the stock connector and connect them to the new HU wires. The new HU only has 12 wires coming out of it, my factory wiring has 3 different connector blocks with about 30 wires in total. How do i know which to use? Would it just be a lot easier to not use the external factory amp?
  14. Hey guys, ive been trying for a few weeks now to wire up my new HU to my RS, it has an external amp behind the glove box. I was talking to Fargo he made me up this wiring loom i can use to Connect onto the stand connectors that were connected to the factory HU, you can then cut into these wires instead of chopping up your factory connections Problem is the extension loom i got off Fargo doesnt fit my connections. Ill PM Fargo soon and ask him whats up. Did anyone else successfully get an aftermarket HU hooked up without bypassing the amp, using Fargo's loom? Also does anyone have any diagrams showing what each of the factory wires is used for. Dont want to chop off my factory connectors if i can get this loom hooked up
  15. Sorry lads started a new thread. click here
  16. Hey guys somone asked me to post up a few pics of the replacement rear clusters i got for my 99 RS, i reversed into a wall yesterday like a fool and broke the rear passenger side light. I bought them from Carroll and Kinsella Lexus in DeansGrange, Dublin. They cost 250 Euro including vat. I went for the late spec dark chrome ones, i think its between 01-04. The 99 ones actually would have cost nearly 300. I think these look much nicer. Part number is: 81551-53012-B1 Sorry for the bad quality pics, taken wit mobile phone! Before: Old vs New Nice pair! Close up of cracked light: Close up of new light:
  17. It might be worth putting back in the factory bulbs to make sure its fixed properly, the put back in the blue LEDs one at a time. with my kit only one of the bulbs causes the fuse to blow. try mess with the metal pins onn the bulbs a bit and bend them out.
  18. Why, just look where you are going, too fast for the road slow down wich fuse was ur speedo lights buddy ? Yo, its fuse number 1 drivers side fuse box 7.5 amp, ive gone through about 10 fuses since i put that rediculous blue led kit. thinks its time to bin that kit and hunt down and burn Auto Led Design down! It controls the lights for a/c cd player and speedo, and that annoying buzzer you get when you open your door and leave your headlights on.
  19. Took me about an hour to explain it to some face to face in a Lexus dealership. " So you want put a set of lenses from a 05 lexus onto a 99?". "Yes, the look better!"never got a part number, but i should be picking them up today or later on tomorrow. Ill get the part number then and ill send it on to ya :D
  20. Just ordered a set of late spec rear clusters form Lexus 212 Euro for the pair. The late spec ones are actually cheaper than a set off 99 ones. Just thought id let everyone Irish here know how much you can pick them up for. Ill have a spare drivers side rear cluster for sale soon if anyone is interested.
  21. cool lads thanks for the quick response ill order some in the morning
  22. So i should get them straight from Lexus? I heard the late spec ones are a lot nicer. Would these fit on mine?
  23. Did something really stupid today, reversed into a wall, broke passenger side rear cluster, scraped the bumper and boot! Totally wasnt looking where i was going. Anyway, need to replace the rear clusters, so might as well get some nice ones. saw these 2 on ebay: Carbon Look rear LED clusters Chrome look rear LED clusters It says they are for models 01-04. Will these fit on my 99 RS? Also i heard some rumours that these LED clusters are prone to stop working after a short time. Are these the ones people are talking about? If so any idea anywhere else i can get a set for less than the price of orginal Lexus ones? Cheers
