  1. Ran out of time to put it in tonight so heres a few pics of it before install:
  2. Thanks guys one last question about the kit, The bit i have highlighted in the pic below, has a pipe going into a hole on the body work. Should i leave this in or take it out so the hole in the bodywork is free?
  3. Ok so i got the induction kit on. Still have to put the box on it? The instructions aren't very helpful(japanese!) Think i can figure out most of it, but, it comes with a few different self adhesive foam strips. I presume they are to reduce vibration noises, but not sure where they go.
  4. Cool Mac so in the pic below i just remove this hose and seal the valve with this rubber cover(that i nearly threw out!( the bit circled in pink is where the hose comes out of. Is this where u mean?
  5. Hi guys trying to install and intake kit at the momentto my Rs200 but i have a few spare connections left over off the factory air box, and there is no where to connect them up to on the the new kit.See pics: Sorry about the bad lighting it got dark and started to rain. The 2 spare connections are highlighted. Also pic below shows hoses on old airbox. Are these still needed? Ill post up more pics if needed.

    Lowering

Oh really??? Thought I read somewhere before that the RS is lower :duh: One of the sites said fitting their lowering springs to IS200/RS200 "sports suspension" won't lower the car Hey Dizz the Rs is already 15mm lower than a standard IS so if you got a set of eibach springs that lowered it 35mm you would only actually be lowering it additional 20mm. Went to the Tuning Factory off Kylemore road trying to source some lowering springs and all they do is a full coilover kit for 890 + fitting. Rang up couture auto in Dunboyne yesterday they do lowering springs(35mm) for 500 + fitting and they are some make ive never heard of.(Estella?) Think the best bet is buying them online, not sure where, im sourcing some myself to. Are you looking to get lowered or just want to improve the handling? If its the handling i'd say upgrade the anti-roll bars to something stiffer, thats on my to-do list also, but cant find any reasonably priced ones anywhere in Ireland :duh:
  7. Im in the same boat, theres a few units floating around on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.ie/BRAND-NEW-TOYOTA-SAT-NA...1QQcmdZViewItem Im goin to order one and try it out and see what happens, if it doesnt re-sell it on ebay! Why bother with all the hassle of fitting and wiring it to end up with (by all accounts) a satnav system that is inferior to a portable system like TomTom? Bear in mind you also need to source and fit an antenna as well. ps a bit but I like the new sig B) Well im just going to try and hook it up to the existing wiring thats already there from the jap nav, connections look similar on my box and one on ebay. i don't really need a nav system anyway. I know my way around dublin! It would just be nice to have the factory screen displaying something in English! If it doesn't work ill try get a dvd player working through the factory screen. And it only costs 70 euro for the unit! compared to a few hundred like TomToms! (You inspired the sig MAC!) :D

  9. Think ill go for the less is more approach. I'm still confused though MAC i cant see any difference between your badges and mine, and the link to that thread doesn't clarify anything!! Only difference is that I used the S off the end of the Lexus part of the RX badge set which is the same size as the R. Looks like you used the S from the IS set which is a little smaller than the R but the same size as the 200 part. Ah now i get ya! I didn't realise they were different sizes until i opened the pack! Ah well im happy with it! Cheers

  11. Finally picked up my "RX" and "is200" badges from Lexus today stuck them on. I dont have the steadiest hand in the world so i was worried about getting it totally crooked! After a few lining up attempts heres a few pics. The hardest bit was actually removing the sticky bits left behind from the old altezza bagde
  12. Finally got a bit of decent weather to paint my wheel hubs. Decided to paint the hubs black and the calipers red. Just thought i'd stick up a few pictures of the results. It took me 5 hours to get them all done. Pain in the ***** but they look good i think. I painted them while they were still on the car which made it very difficult to do especially to reach the corners at the back. Let me know what you guys think before: after:
  13. Cheers mate, whats the easiest way to remove the old altezza badge? I've been searching ebay for the last hour them badges. i can find the RX300 badges but not any IS200 badges, and they aint that cheap! After shipping and all that it would work out more or less the same as buying them off Lexus, except i could have them tomorrow! :P
  14. Just priced up an IS200 badge and an RX300 badge from Lexus dealer, 48 euro for both. picking them up on friday will post pics up soon as there stuck on
  15. Does anybody know if the RS200 has a seperate amp, similar to the IS200 SE models. i had a look behind the glove box couldn't see anything but below it and too the left was something that could possibly be an amp! There is a fuse box near it. Dont want to go ripping a load of panels out to discover its something for the aircon! :o
  16. Hi Jason, ive been trying to source the same cd, difference is with mine.. mine is a jap import and i need an irish cd and cd unit. Impossible!! Best bet maybe to try a Lexus dealer. They might charge you big bucks for it though. Let me know how you get on.
  17. Hey guys just curious if anyone would be interested in meeting up on Sunday in Dublin or any of the surrounding counties, to compare cars, have mine a few weeks now and would like some advice :P Uk members welcome!! :winky:
  18. Yep same here i saw them on a silver Rs200 in the car park and they just looked stuck on and cheap. I'd say go for a late spec set of rear clusters. Dizz has them on his.
  19. The vibration could be caused because the anti roll bar brushes are worn and need to be replaced. That was the case on my old Civic Type R anyway. Took my passenger side front and rear wheels off today to give them a good wire brushing before i paint the rusted hubs, black and the caliper red. My discs were also very rusted in the centre and along the Circumference. All the rust came off easily with a wire brush! I only have my RS200 less than 2 weeks and it was supposed to be fully serviced before i got it. Looks like they over looked the rear brakes. there is only about 3mm left on the pad. Ill post up some pics of the before and after. Anyone recommend a good set of pads to get, TRD, mintex? no idea really!
  20. I have one in mine, it ain't doing anything special at the moment just hooked up to the JAP GPS! Planning to get european software and dvd player hooked up in a while!
  21. Grand ill get onto toyota and Lexus here in Dublin and see if they can sort me out with a new unit and hopefully it wont be too expensive!
  22. Found the unit in the boot, its a cd unit. would i be best off getting the european unit from Toyota or Lexus?
  23. so i need to replace the unit pictured above? any idea what one to get and where i can get it from? and is there actually a Disc for Ireland? Searched ebay but not much there. might buy one of the disks to see what happens
  24. Hey guys i finally found out where the sat nav unit was in my boot!(under 2 bits of carpet!) i took the unit out( see pictures belowP) but i dont see any button to eject the sat nav disc? any ideas how i get it out? any buttons on the headunit or any hidden buttons on the sat nav unit? Thanks for the help! heres the type of unit i have heres the type of connections: heres a pic of the cd in the drive heres the model of the unit: i thought he black switch near the screw on the left would pop out the disk, but didnt work the 2 black bits make the cd move up and down didnt want to move them too much So can anyone tell me how the hell i get the disk out of the drive so i can stick in a european one. At the moment its a jap disk, not sure whether its cd or dvd. cant tell till i take the disk out!
  25. That wasnt a very smart thing for the alarm guy to do, he probably did it like that so if it breaks or anything you have to go back to him and he will charge you a fortune to replace it! i recently got an alarm installed and the guy gave me 2 alarm fobs which control everything. the central locking button on the key doesnt work any more but at least i have 2 fobs. I would go back to the guy and tell him to re-wire it with seperate alarm fobs. hope they dont charge you any extra.
