  1. Ive looked through the forum but there didnt appear to be a finate answer for this question.

Can you take a dimming mirror off an is300 and wire it into an is200. With no tints and no dimmer night time motorway journeys could be a nightmare.

I am looking into tints but if I can get an auto dimmer off a scrapped is300 is it just a case of attaching it and feeding it earth and a 12v source or it it much more complex than this

  2. So what can I do window tinting wise. Ive read that your not allowed to do front windscreen tints but Ive seen some pics on here that have by far darker windscreens than mine which seems clear.

Aslo if I do it id like to have the same all round so what are my options and legal issues

  3. Why sell up?

Surely you plug in the amp bypass to the plug from the Sat nav and then the other wires attach to the aftermarket headunit?

Not completely sure it'll work as i've never dealt with a sat nav system but it could work?

Does the sat nav come out of both front and rear speakers? I think iv just made the most obvious and stupid mistake ever. If it does then all I need to do is by the bypass model and cabling off eBay and leave the rears in place to do the satnav as that will still go through the standard amp which can be left connected for the rears.

This is of course making the big assumption that the satnav is directly connected to the amp and doesnt require an output from my h/u as my h/u doesnt have a built in amp/speaker connector

Also does anyone know what the sound output fron the sat nav is? ie line level optical etc

  4. The is200 im looking at getting has satnav in it.

As I run a full active setup am I going to screw over the satnav system as Im gussing I will.

Full active basically means that each speaker has a seperate amp and is crossed over before the amp. Ie tweets have an amp mids have a seperate amp and so on.

Im guessing theres no way to really get it to work. Looks like I might end up selling up and sticking with stock

  5. This is how it came

No mate it was a standard SE to begin with and all that you see on there have been added by me and are accessories available from Lexus

What sort of cost was that?

depends really what you put on, think the wheels cost out £1100 with tyres and the skirts came to approx £1500 with paint and labour

did you lower that as well or is that on standard springs?

  6. the 7998r is a great headunit I run it myself and you can change all the buttons from green to amber.

Its also got a 3way active mode ainet support and optical output to run to a h701/700 for all processing requirements.

I wouldnt pay 600 notes for it though have a look on eBay I picked mine up for a 170 quid.

You wont get better sound than this. Be carfull however it doesnt have a built in amp all amplification has to be run via rca leads to a separate amp or 4
