  1. I went to program my satnav with Tony's address on Saturday and went to put in the postcode (which I thought I had done before), but I couldn't find the option to do it.

Am I going mad or does the satnav only take addresses not postcodes?

If I update the Satnav DVD does it give you the facility to put postcodes in or is it just a map data upgrade?

Im not sure it does postcode lookup if I does I certainly havnt found a way to do it

  2. Ive got a bit of a lip forming on the front disk on my 200. Whats the rules and regs on this whats safe whats not and how easy is it to change disks and pads? Ive done motorcycle and bicycle disk brakes so im reasonably competent when it comes to basics

  3. Hi People

My HID kit for my GS300 turned up today and I can't wait to fit it but I have notived a problem. The colour of the wires on the car loom are white and red but the wires on the ballast are black and red. Would I be right in assuming that red would go to red and white would go to black? I just don't fancy blowing anything up. The kit I bought from ebay are the rebranded philips ballasts and bulbs so hopefully I have got a good kit for my £95 quid.

Discs and pads are next Mr Prolex.

Your help would be much appreciated. Cheers.

    Yep thats what id do

  4. Alright folks,

After driving home from work my engine management light has come on and with past experience with cars this would mean one of two things, put it to a garage or the old trick with the paper clip etc.

is it possible to carry out the trick where you bridge two terminals and count flashes on the dash etc wit the is200? If so does anyone know how to do it and what codes there are etc?

I just fitted a new manifold and hi flow cat so sensors are all there etc, wasn't drining hard at the time eiter, i was sitting behind a tractor waiting to over take lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    cheers

    jay

If youve just changed the manifold have you done an ecu reset? My first though would be that a sensor has possibly got damaged if that doesnt work or has been tried

  5. stuie n boddamloon can u guys put pics of ur is's with the hids swithced on? thx

Il get pics up once ive got some sorted check back later tonight or tommorow mate

    Hi,

Dont waste your money making the dipped lights HID u hardly use them, plus when u flash people it wnt start up within that second plus its no good for the hid system.

do the fogs lights hid, it will look hot.

for the side lights, get a set of led white bulbs. does the trick for me

You dont use your dipped lights more than your main beams?

what lights do you use at night then? Your not one of those :tsktsk: that drives around with sidelights and fogs on are you?

  6. Installed them at dinner and wow.

These are great solid construction only grip with them was that the connection to the cars loom wasnt a one way only connection but for the money and the great shipping service these are great will get some pics up later when Ive got my camara to hand

  7. Ive ordered some now

decided to go for the 4300K instead for better lighting these were what I got

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1

I also ordered from power bulbs

2 lots of blue vision 4000K one 9005 set for the high beam and one h1 set for the fogs hopefully as well i should be the matching blue vision w5w sidelight bulbs foc too which will fully set me up lighting wise

Think you might need the 9006 set for your fogs mate if i remember rightly and not the H1's???

Mines a 2005 model with the new fog lights hence the h1's

They have arrived already the kit seems pretty solid but im at work atm so havnt had chance to try them might give them a go at dinner and see what they are like

  8. I agree the phillips is about the best around but the one i bought has been tried and tested by a few on here and i have not heard any complaints yet and its just a fraction of the phillips one

Cool so. If mine ever pack in on me i know where to pick up a set cheap. Cheers

What about the bosch ones? How good are they?

  9. Im thinking about going hid on the car but I have a couple of questions.

Can you do both high and dipped beam and if so what needs doing and what do I need?

Im also planing on making sure the side lights match too so what bulbs would I need for that

Im looking at a 6/6500K colour what would be the best kits to get I dont want to spend the earth as Il be hoping to do both sets of bulbs btut I dont want it failing in a few weeks either or having to cut into wiring.

If anyone has got any links to exact ones il need and are recommended that would be great

    Cheers Guys

    Stuart

  10. Looking at going to the hyde park calling festival with the mrs so I could do with an idea of where to stay.

I dont want anything too expensive needed, for 3 nights friday through till monday. Just a b&b or something as we will probably eat out most the time.

What is available ideally I want to spend less than a hundred a night.

Ive found a place call the thistle victoria thats 86 quid a night opposite vic station but I dont know what its like or if thats going to allow easy access to hyde park and more importantly shopping for the missus.

What do you guys think and are there any other options
