Hi Folks, Will soon need to take my motor to be checked out....but thought I would see if any of you guys might have an idea with whats wrong. I have noticed this for about 6 months.....always on reversing...normally when steering on full lock....started as a small clicking noise..... ...over the last few weeks is becoming a rather noisey clicking, creaking when reversing and turning from the front offside.......for some reason I suspect the brakes.......or could it be a suspension issue?... ....look forward to your replys.....enjoy the sunshine :-) Rgds Tony. -
This has happened to me also..........strange feeling not moving until you use "kickdown" isn't it!!!!!! I have had my car for a year and a half.......it happened a couple of times when I first bought it......then perfectly fine for months and months.....then it happened twice the same day about 6 weeks ago....perfectly fine since?!?!?!... ....i'm wondering wether it could be down to dodgy fuel from supermarkets?

Has anybody with a similar GS model noticed a noise that sounds like a servo or similar buzzing for 3-4 seconds followed by a click. I normally notice the noise at low speed, after braking. Anybody know what this is? Rgds, Tony.

Hi all, My cambelt was last changed at 64k....when i last had it serviced (100k) I was told it is due again.......could somebody enlighten me as to wether this is the case or not? My car was reg in Sept 99. Many Thanks. Tony.

I to had this problem (gs300 sport mk11)....after many whacks with the fist I seem to have dislodged something....and now everytime I turn left or right something rattles around the sunroof area. So don't whack it.

Howdee I have a 99 GS300 sport, the sound when playing a cd is fantastic....but when I listen to the Radio (FM) it sounds really dull and flat.....less treble etc. Has anyone else found this...or is my radio k-nackered. Its the Navigation model by the way. Ta Tony.

Does anybody know how to overide the Navigation Lock on a 1999 GS300 Sport? Also there are settings on the car that can be enabled/disabled by Lexus Only (According to manual) eg electronic steering park...etc.....does anybody know if there is a "secret Menu" for accessing such? Rgds, Tony.

Rear spoiler wobbles and shakes too much, can't see anyway of tightening it, anyone know how too? :duh:

Sorry for the Delay.... Got the knocking issue sorted in the end.... with no help from the Prestige Car Company who now wanted to replace the offside Balljoint at great cost!!!! :tsktsk: Took it to a mate some miles away (mechanic ) Put the car up on the ramps and within 30 seconds said "Its the antiroll bar bushes mate" and proceded to rattle the antiroll bar......30 Minutes later and £90 lighter...all knocking gone....... Happy Days. :D :D

Hi All, I have a 1999 GS300 Sport with 100k on the clock ...drives like a new car and everything works...great car...however Every so often the engine light comes on and the engine dies....goes into a get me home type mode...only accelerates on kickdown. Also the Traction control light comes on. I stop, turn off...restart and everythings fine....it can go for hundreds of miles and weeks without happening again. (which is why it isnt high priority). Just wondered if anybody had experienced similar. rgds.Tony.

Driving in Scotland over the weekend...weather was lashing it down, and I noticed that the knocking was not at all audible in these conditions....would this indicate a dry joint? Rgds,Tony.

I to have a Lexus Gs300 Sport with the same knocking noise coming from the offside front suspension. I had it serviced by the Prestige Car Servicing company who told me they had checked all the suspension and no problem was found so it must be the shock absorbers. As this was a £700 job to replace the shocks, 3 hours labour per side I was informed, I asked wether this would rectify the knocking...yes sir. Got the car back and the knocking is still the same. 1. Has anybody got any idea what is causing this 2. Have I got any chance of getting a refund for work carried out to the shocks. Happy (grrrrr) Motoring. Tony.
