  1. I had a similar problem with mine. if i remember right we removed the streering wheel via two bolts. Then noticed the metal bars that make the circuit when the horn was pressed were bent back. so they were bent forward and the horn now makes contact with the metal strips and the horn now works. but be careful not to pull the metal out too far, or (like my dad) you will be driving around and the horn goes off at random intervals!
  2. Hi there, ive had front end creaking on mine. It was the brake caliper. Best way to check is to jack the car up and spin the wheel. If it does not spin freely then the caliper is jamming the brake pad to the disk. had a knocking sound at low speed when streeing wheel was turned (eg parking, 3 point turn) will require new caliper+pads and disks. recon calipers are around £100. Another cause could be a leaking shock absorber.
  3. Ive got the same problem an I dont know what to do!!! first i thought it was a belt loose but then descoverd it had something to do with the clutch. Once a little pressure is applied the squeek stops. Think it may just be me but the biting point of the clutch seems lower, jus "feels" different. problems in past 2 weeks have been: coilpack replacement, ERR3, and squeeky clutch, oh an some **** has nicked the cover that sits in the roof rack channel, plus a plastic part that is where the widscreen meets the wing! I wud have been happier him nicking the strereo!!
  4. yea it was 204 supply and fit. I would still have had to get the engine re-set so didnt cost all that much in labour. was £70 quid ish to accuratly diagnose (they charged the next guy 45 jus to have a look at someting) fit part, and re-set ecu. I know for next time. I didnt know it was coil pack untill toyota told me. The cambelt is cam belt, ac belt, powersteering and altenator belts plus idler an tensinor. Local garage charges around £30 per hour labour. Will go to him later, I was at Toyota so thought id ask um. will post on here when i get a price. I know peddle dance workes for some, but for me it jus didnt. was working in nottingham so took it there as had key since january!!
  5. Hi there. The dreaded trc an eng lights lit up the dasboard last week (Is 200 sport, 94k). had the fault read (£35 from car audio shop) then took it to Toyota in Leicester, hoping labour rates would be cheaper. Anyway, it cost me £204 to have 1 coil pack replaced!! re-setting the ecu has improved performance. Cheeky ****ers charged me £10 plus vat for a new bosh super 4 spark plug, i only paid around £20 for 6 in the firstplace. They also want £315 for cambelt plus other belt changes. 2.5 hours labour @£70 per hour approx. Will ring lexus later. Gonna ring nottingham lexus also. For any people who want an aditional key, get 1 from e-bay, nottingham lexus charged between 50-60 to programme it. Leicester wudnt as i had got key my self (that came from the parts manager!!) I tried the "pedal dance" got the doors to open n close, but cudnt get the engine started.

  8. ive had the alignment re-checkd and, and it has the same readings as the day i had it done. think the problem is because i had two new tyres on the back, and moved the back to the front axel. when the alignment was done the back wheels needed adjusting (which now had the fresh set). and noticed that both front wheels (which were on the back) are worn on the inside. from the inner edge to the first groove. i am being told that if the rear needed doing then the tyres were out of shape in the first place. moving them to the front axel has exagerated the wear. this is prob y it is twitch at high speed because the inner part of the wheels are worn. hope this all makes sense as it took me a while (with the guy using his feet and arms/hands) to make sense of it. will have to get new tyres, got yokohama ones on rear, 72 each. will get a matching 2 more
  9. laser alignment, adjusted all 4 wheels on camber and toe in and out. have a print out from before and after and it was way from perfect. the machine dials registration and brings up the manufactures settings
  10. im getting the oil changed soon at a local garage, will ask them to check over the suspension bushes etc just to be 100%sure.
  11. the tyres on the front are bridgestone and ray yokohama (now eva its spelt) ive had the geometry done, 4 wheel alignment £40. the tyres are in the proper direction, on motorways it feels twitchy, (at 3rd lane speeds!), also feels difficult to turn round bends and changing lane unless the speed is dropped to first lane speeds. the car also seems to follow every bump in the road at 30mph.
  12. hello peeps i was in need of some help. i have an is200 sport wich is very "twitchy" at high speed. nothing is loose or worn out,is this the way the car is set up at the factory? how could i help it be more stable, strut brace perhaps? any ideas appiciated cheers
  13. Hello mate, I am new to this forum and this is my first query. Ive just brought a IS200 Navigator sport, W reg in Aztec Fire. But it has no user handbook, and the CD that came with it was for the latest 200 (for some stupid reason). Have you got the handbook so that i can work out how to use things, like the headlight washers? Or would you know which section of the forums i could get help from? Any help is appriciated. Thanx Gurj
