the seat comes out pretty easy but its heavy once out its easily repaired and welcome to the best car in the world
-
of couse I have all the details which cost me through eBay
-
as a UK member good luck
-
welcome rob I hope your car is past October 1991 because that's when they did the gearbox upgrade to F1 status so upgradable to performance add ons is costly
-
totally agree at least this gives some satisfaction/feed back to the helper making their efforts worth while

mine had a one foot crack in it, I should say this but its quite easy to cause that to happen.
I fitted a speed trap detector so only way into the car for the wires was the passenger door so over the wing at the lower edge of the screen they went but I didn't fit the plastic guard properly and put excess weight on the corner of the screen to cut a long story short just give it a wrap on the edge with a thingy and watch the crack grow no need for a brick
-
mine had a similar issue and I checked everything and it ended up being the alternator it was only giving out 9v enough to top the Battery up as long as you dont use any electrical item or drive at night which I dont,
best thing is to get it started and take it to motorworld/halfords or any other place because they will check the Battery and alternator out this way you dont keep putting things right when it wasn't them in the first place ( I speak through experience ) but I just notice you said the heater fan is on with the keys out so I agree with ROYT there
-
break line can be bad up so not expensive approx £10, windscreen I suggest you get comprehensive insurance then ring AUTOGLAZE 01325 484300 they will write off the excess so its free ( just had mine replaced )
if you dont have comp ins the screen costs £800 fitted of course and that's with a 10% discount
-
check the output from the alternator to the Battery it should be 14.5v, has any work been done on the power steering pump? they could have spilled ATF fluid on the alternator which unfortunately kills it slowly but surly
-
awesome if its true ( my mate has the first LS 400 with 500k on the clock and still strong ) what does the miles matter when you own this sort of car?? is a jap RR and better
-
im retiring from the road so selling my motor, what hasn't been done to it isn't worth mentioning £££££££ im looking for 2k and shes worth every penny, totally mint condition and no problems what so ever so no work needing to be done
-
I would check the condition of the HT leads for arcing and the condition of the distributor caps inside for worn carbon brushes
-
best way is to drain the power steering pump and start from the top ( fan shroud off / MAF and pipes off /serp belt off / power steering pump off / then you can see the alternator clearly and not a big job at all ),
dont try from under the car which the book says as its ten times harder
total time to remove and replace was 1hr
opppsss that was for the ls 400 but cant see the is 200 being that hard
-
check for recalls, it is worth checking the pipes from the radiator especially the lower one which might have split hence the no time to warn you of the problem, £2.5k just to examine that is very high you can buy a car for that
-
mine was a genuine part from Toyota/Lexus and only £239 new and hand the old one in but that's for the LS 400 so those prices?? where did you get them from because its extortion
-
I dont know what it was but the presence of the older ls400 won me over, the other has a mini and she deserves it ( nice car though ) but small
Let folks know exactly WHICH model LS? I guess the Ser 4? Which case, I agree......correct ( it was )
just thought I would mention the windscreen for the ls400 is £800 fitted I got mine through the insurance because I have comprehensive so was free,
its worth getting comp over TPFT
-
it will be stored in the memory regardless I just cant understand why your system has zeroed its self unless the clock has been replaced before
-
well its the 30/05/07 haven't had the 430 long at all and decided to part with it because I personally think the older ls400 is much better even though it dosnt have all the toys,
im glad I kept my baby and its back on the road the 430 sold pretty quick with no loss or profit
-
if you check you service book it might have the trim code unfortunately mine dosnt but is blue
later seats will fit with a few wire connections
-
later LS models had the full setup I think from 1995 on so you should be able to get one from a later car
-
Russian links work great so does my translator, very interesting
-
never seen that one its great
-
the tools are not difficult to get Snap on sell them to the trade but not cheap like Bluetooth for instance, this allows the car to be scanned for problems as well as other dubious things,
the more advanced the maker gets they still have to make a tool to fix it and the thief can buy it or steal it which is what they do lol
-
it amazes me when you see lots of spares on eBay when you consider how good these cars are
