I would check for the part numbers first most shops should be able to help you out there then compare prices

you can check for codes on the transmission,

turn the ignition on but dont start the engine press in the overdrive button so the light goes off on your dash -

install jumper wire in to terminals TE1 and E1 then watch the overdrive light flash the codes.

codes are

42 = speed sensor circuit,

46 = No 4 solenoid sensor circuit,

61 = No 2 speed sensor circuit,

62 = No 1 solenoid sensor circuit,

63 = No 2 solenoid sensor circuit,

64 = N0 3 solenoid sensor circuit,

67 = OD direct clutch speed sensor circuit,

68 = kickdown switch circuit..

to clear the codes turn the ignition off remove ECT ECU fuse for 10 seconds ( switch ignition on ensure overdrive light is off indicates system is normal ).

fuse for ECT ECU is in junction box 2 left front corner engine compartment

mine was the same when I got the car and SEC means the code has been set,

I had to remove the radio and take it in to J.W. OZELTON & SON to get the code from the CMOS he charged me £25 ( any other car would be £15 rip off sod ).

one thing I do see is the 200 series is the new vauxhall vectra double but a better car

definitely a Gothic nut with that dead sub speaker buried in the boot and car looks great for the younger generation, way over the top for a luxury motor but different not my cuppa at all

does the auto steering work ok if not it has an effect on the seat memory?? are you pressing the break peddle while trying to set the seat memory up if so "don't" because it wont set up?? are you turning the ignition on full without starting the engine if not you cant set the memory up.

im new to the Lexus even though im a mechanic and the electrical thing are tricky but im getting there

you have the 2 buttons and the set on the drivers door,

set the seat for driving position and mirrors/ steering wheel,

press the set button and hold then button 1 keep held till you hear a beep to confirm its stored,

now do the same with button 2 but obviously for exiting the car,

ignition has to be on but engine not started

sounds like a good deal to me considering they give you a set of wheels to keep you on the road,

Cleveland area are approx £150 for shot blast and paint x 4 wheels and your off the road till they do it,

im doing my own ( wire brush on the drill gun ) then wet&dry and polish cant decide whether to paint or keep them shiny

mine has an aftermarket unit built in minus the phone not Bluetooth so I went for hands free Bluetooth so no wiring issues,

carphone warehouse are doing a very good deal at the moment for £75 fitted its Bluetooth but speaker wired in,

I like the mobile Bluetooth unit because you can use it in the office or at home worth thinking about

Ive done a search with lots of ideas on repair and seen the diagrams of the board the tips on the RPM and speedo are just starting to fade could you advise me on which resistors need changing to restore them and the best resistor which lasts longer ( LXY/ KME ).

I can still see them and its only the tips but I guess the needle will soon fail, any help would be greatly appreciated everything else on the dash is great.

try this guy on eBay globalsuppliers2007 I got some awesome software for my Lexus ls400 called Mitchel on demand and shows all wiring diagrams and loads more

this happened to mine the fuse is in the engine bay 10 amp red fuses are near the Battery

will post pictures as soon as I find out how to ill check this site on how to as Ive seen it and need to get on to photo bucket or some site like that

new to the site and new to Lexus,

just got a late 1991 LS 400 it was stood for a year and a half waiting for a front wheel bearing to be fitted the guy works in Saudi and only comes back to the UK 6 weeks in any year so didn't have the time to fix it he paid £2.500 for it and swapped me for my 1993 Audi 80 also a very nice car,

its now on the road and flew the M.O.T and the best car I have ever owned and I have had a few but this takes the top honours,

full service history ( new MOT ) gray/blue metallic blue leather totally stunning condition apart from the alloy wheels which will get refurbed soon,

what a car :D and nice to find a UK site that loves these cars
