for my GS300 MK2 i picked cheapest hid kit on ebay. i just wanted to try them so went for cheapest one from china. and believe me it took only 3 days to get here. kit you need is 9006 HB4 . i have had it for 8 months now and no problems at all i think i paid £60 inc delivery. main beam, low beam and fog lights they all are same bulb type 9006 HB4. i am running 8000k low beam and 3000k fog lights

i think you are right . i better keep it no point selling her cheap as chips.

Admin and Mods please note i am not trying to advertise my car here or trying to promote car sale. *********************************************** i genuinely and honestly need some advice please. i am seriously thinking about getting an aristo mk2. and trying to sell my car. i have seen one nice aristo for sale in my town and at reasonable price. i dont have spare cash just now and mainly i dont wana get stuck with two cars. so plan is to sell mine first and then get this aristo. arsito seller is friend of my uncle and he has given me 2 weeks time to sell my car and buy his and he is happy to hold onto it for 2 weeks. i have advertised my car on ebay, piston heads, gumtree, ad trader and few other sites. i advertised it 5 days ago and trust me i have not had a single email or even single phone call from any one. my asking price is £2800. car cost me alot more than 2800. i spent quite bit on wheels, exhaust , service brakes etc etc over past 1 year. and car is near to mint . i cant afford to let her go for less than £2600. am i asking silly money for it ??? i think £2800 ono is very reasonable price for car in such a good nick. what do you think guys why my car is not selling ? and whats right asking price in your opinion. if you think my car is not worth £2600 then i think i would never ever sell it it really hurts to sell her for less than 2600. really shocking 5 days gone and not even single email or call from any one ? here is ebay link please check and advise. many thanks guys http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200462262019&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123

is it £100 for one caliper or both ?

hi guys i have few questions please. 1. any place to buy cheap calipers for my gs300 mk2 1998 ? 2. any place who refurb calipers 3. will soarer, ls400 or supra calipers fit gs300 mk2 or any other make / model without any wheel / suspension modifications. my both front calipers are sticking. i have checked and its not rubber boots or slider pins. lexus quoted me £720 inc parts and labour for front 2 calipers. any help would be much appreciated cheers guys

welcome mate. before you spend money on mods etc make sure car is all sweet . fix all mechanical issues first. like oil filter change, pads etc etc and nice looking car well shiny and i like wheels :)

that aristo is no more. seller sold it yesterday so now no point in selling my car. im keepin my car yaaaaay :)

i have seen one aristo MK2 for sale which i really really fancy. so hoping to sell mine and buy this aristo. only reason im selling my car is to buy this aristo but i am not desperate to sell my car and not desperate to buy this aristo. i will let my car go only if i get my asking price but i have got this funny feeling that no body is gona offer me that sort of money :)

so my car is showing more MPG than it should...?

This is a list of things to check when viewing a series I GS300 (1993-1997). Front brake discs – These are prone to warping if wheel nuts are not tightened in the correct order and to the correct torque. Any steering wobble under light braking from 60mph indicates a problem. Ball joints – Perform full lock turns and try to drive over speed bumps and listen out of knocking noise or loose steering feel. Instrument cluster – Check the needles fully light up. These can fade over time and a new instrument cluster is very expensive. Radiator – If the coolant hasn’t been replaced every 2 or 3 years using the correct Toyota coolant the radiator may well be rusting on the inside. Difficult to check but look at the colour of the coolant. A rusty colour indicates trouble however please note that Toyota Long-Life Coolant is red so do not confuse the two. Exhaust – The standard exhaust is stainless steel however series I GS300s are getting to the age where these can fail. Please note these will always appear worse than they actually are due to normal surface corrosion as the stainless steel is not of a grade to provide a good looking exterior finish. Bonnet/Boot gas struts – These can become weak and unable to fully lift the panel. Sport 18” wheels – The standard 18” wheels fitted to the sport model are prone to buckling. These need to be checked carefully and make sure there is no steering wheel wobble at high speed.

thanks for inputs guys.. well i did give my car good check today and i think there are few things which are / were causing problem. 1. i noticed front both brakes were binding 2. air filter was filthy as hell. dead flies, fluff, grass etc and i even found 2 dead snails :) 3. my car battery totally died few weeks ago so i believe by changing battery i have done some sort of ECU reset and while ecu is learning car is consuming more fuel. 4. my mechanic told me in cold winters car consumes more fuel coz engine struggles to warm up ? my findings so far....any more suggestions please keep them coming thanks guys

some good points there. i was running 17" wheels with 225 50 17 and now i am running 18" with 225 40 18. i think car does need service. but it drives ok no problems or any hesitation with pulling or revs.

true but 20 liter petrol is still 20 liters :);)

hey guys just wondering about fuel economy and MPG. i have gs300 mk2 with standard wheels and stnadard exhaust i was getting about 85-90 miles out of 20 liter petrol. (in town) since i have changed my exhaust and wheels now i only get about 65 miles out of 20 liter petrol. ( in town ) 20 liter petrol and 65 miles in town is that normal average ? do you think there is some thing wrong with my car ? cheers

GS430 look alike. i was also struggling to find golden gs300 badges and found these 430 in gold so i thought why not lets stick them on . unless you lift bonnet you cant really tell if its 300 or 430. The "R" reg might be a clue unless people assume it's a cherished plate. very valid point... didnt think about that one hmmm...i think im gona get rid of lexus and gs430 badge just keep L in middle.
