  1. Hi Guys I have just read the test report on the SC when it still had run flat tyres and hard suspension, the test report was in Top Gears own magazine and compared it with the Jaguar XK8 and the 4 litre CLK Merc, the verdict was the SC won. Now if that is with the old setup and wheels the current one should be even better. Maybe Steve Stupid on Top Gear should read there own test reports before speaking such rubbish. I have a new SC and I test drove the new SL350 Merc before buying my SC, the lexus is better equiped than the new SL350 quieter/smoother/ FASTER/ has more head room/ better interior/ and has two small rear seats etc, and before you start laughing if you put the passenger seat forward halfway you CAN put a small adult or child in the back. All you non believers should test drive an SC, there are few cars that could keep up with it and still hear the radio. Michael
  2. Hi P You should try the SC and then The SL I think you would be disappointed with the MERC I was Michael

  4. Hi Chuck I have a new 03 SC and I have no squeaks or rattles the car is silent, I suggest you should press your dealer harder to fix it, are you in the UK or the States? Welcome to the club. Michael
  5. :D Hi Guy's N Gal's I am on board the Aurora somewhere in the atlantic posting to you good Lexus people back on dry land soon. Hope all is well in Lexus Land Michael
  6. ;) Hi Zee Yes my Lexus dealer is in the same building as the Toyota dealer Michael
  7. ;) I may have found at last a set of new wheels for my SC but my local Lexus dealer said they won't fit them to the car for me because of product liability for a non-Lexus part. I don't want to go to a non-Lexus tyre fitter because I want someone to change the tyre pressure sensors and wheels who is familular with the vehicle. Anyone know where I can go, I need a willing Lexus dealer somewhere south of Bristol as I live in North Devon The wheels are the TRD made for the SC so I am told. Thanks Michael
  8. :D Thanks I have emailed them about new wheels.
  9. :D I have put pictures of my SC and wheel kit plus TRD wheels on club gallery pages 7 and 8 Michael
  10. :D I have just seen a picture of a wheel conversion kit for the SC, it replaces the tin lid on the original wheels and looks a lot better. I have also found some chrome TRD wheels which look great but I don't know if they ship to the UK. I have pictures of both and I will try to put them on club gallery. Michael
  11. Hi Clare Did you get my PM at the weekend? my cheque should have been with you today, or at weds morn at latest due to Easter post. Michael
  12. Hi My new SC sat nav has not got traffic avoidance although I beleive some other Toyota and maybe Lexus models do, my question is can the disc with T.A be installed in my car and would it work? or any other ideas Thanks Michael
  13. Hi Bobski I am in Lynmouth north Devon.
  14. I know this is a old topic but why do members not put their location on their profiles? we are not members of a secret society! just fill in the Town or even county. Maybe the folks in charge could change the new members registration so that the location field is mandatory and perheps existing members could be persuaded to edit their profiles. I live in Devon and I have no idea if I am the only member down here. Hopefully Michael
  15. Hi Guy's is it possible to lower and raise the electric rear quarter lights on a SC? they open and close with the operation of the roof but if they could be used with the roof up it would make a pillarless coupe and with the roof down it may further improve the back draft effect! Anybody know? Thanks Michael
  16. Will there be any trade stands for replacement wheels at the meet? I would like to go but it is a long way from Devon. Michael
  17. Hi Guy's Is the item about anti chip paint still on the Lexus site? and if so where can I find it? I have a 5 week old SC and after only two weeks I had chips on the bonnet, my other car is 18 months old 27,000 miles and no more chips than my SC, could it be the Lexus paint quality is not upto the car quality. I am starting to feel concerned. Michael
  18. Hi Guy's n Gal's I have seen modified grills etc for the SC on the net but I can't find anywhere to buy them in this country, anyone know where to get some bits for a SC in the UK? I am also looking for chrome 18" wheels. Thanks Michael
  19. Hi Guy's Are there any problems with insurers if you fit non standard wheels to a car? and has anyone seen any nice wheels on a SC which will allow the use of the standard tyres? I want to change mine because the standard wheels look the pits but as my car is new I don't want to waste the exixting tyres. Thanks Michael
  20. :D Hi to Le Director, I have just shown your profile to my wife who fell about laughing at your interests must be a like minded car nut Michael
  21. <_< Hi Guy's n Gal's Am I the only SC driver in Devon? it would be nice to know I am not alone Michael
  22. I feel I should point out to Le Director that new members do not know who you are, and as you do not sign your posts or have a name on your profile how are we ever going to find out? which brings me full circle back to my opening post regarding LOC meetings. Michael
  23. B) Hi All Gaydon was my first LOC meeting so please excuse my presumption to offer constructive criticism of the day. 1. I was surprised that at a very minimum there was no LOC table / desk / point of contact set up for members to register their arrival. 2. The same table would act as a contact point for introductions and any questions of the club or the days events. 3. I also think it is better to group members cars by model as did some of the other clubs there, it would then look less like a car park and more like a meeting. 4. I expected to see items of LOC stock for sale which would do the club no harm! I do not know what the structure of the club is but I do not think any of the above would take much to arrange and would make such meetings more focused and enjoyable for all. I hope you all read this post in the spirit it is intended for the good of the club. Michael
  24. Hi Rik My last merc I bought new in 1999 kept it 18 months and 20,000 miles, lost £30,000 on it and was lucky at that, need I say more! I have now bought a exclusive car called a LEXUS. Michael B)
  25. Hi Are there any LOC members in devon, I am based in north devon and will be going to Gaydon on Sunday, anyone else from Devon going?
