  1. Reading the rules on plates Here despite the raised characters, I think they are okay.

Try this from CL or there are some clear you-tube instructions. I have successfully used this method to programme keys in the past but the timing and remembering the sequence is key so expect it to take 2-3 attempts before you get the knack of it.
  3. That sounds a fair deal Ant especially as they replaced the third cat. It shouldn't take 3 days and £1300....unless the primary cats and manifolds are being replaced but then it would be £3000.
  4. I think I will stick with white. Are any warnings given in the instructions?

Key programming is quite a process but at least it's free.😊
  6. Grove Garage in Brighton will do a good job, have Lexus knowledge but will be more expensive than Tony Banks. MIJ in Walsall are highly skilled but very busy and will take all day. There are a couple in Ashford that look okay. One, Fast Road Kent, was too scared to take on my GS460 header build so I can't rate them but the signs were favourable.
  7. 300 miles is expensive on fuel but always a pleasure in the SC.👍
  8. If it's roadworthy, clean it up as best you can and join in. I'm hoping to attend. There will be some lovely low mileage, rarely driven, garage queens on display I'm sure but no doubt some will have a few battle scars too. My car does having done almost 160k, it's a lot of fun but far from pristine and that's before driving 150 miles to get there. 🤣
  9. So are both the radio and satnav covers working okay? I would simply take it apart and carefully re-install it all, making sure all of the connections are good. It only takes a few minutes with the plug and play stuff.
  10. All of the sound comes from the amplifier which relies on the head unit for audio signal and a trigger signal to turn it on. If you try to adjust volume, balance, fade, etc you may find it doesn't register because the head unit and the amp are not 'talking to each other.' Hopefully that's something very simple that lost connection when the cables were put back in and around the head unit.
  11. It needs to be addressed by someone competent. Why not ask the garage lined up to do the rear reluctor rings if they can help with the fault codes or if not they may know a local expert cheaper than the Lexus dealers? If you were in the South I could recommend someone.
  12. Probably all linked to a poor connection. 'all sound from the radio' is that the same as no sound at all?
  13. Reading the fault code list and the first post detail, I suspect something related to the ABS was disconnected or disabled. If correct, that sounds like a very temporary measure to disable the ABS as a 'get you home' type fix. A trip to Lexus / finding a friendly knowledgeable SC430 near neighbour / professional with access to parts to swap and check components would be my advice.
  14. The SC garage queen has been let out recently but it's always a project car and as is usual, far from being 'show ready.' Apart from being dusty and dirty inside and out, there's a little more dash fabrication work underway. And to keep the thread on track, I rolled it out of the garage this morning and took a couple of pics of the door logo lights.
  15. We may have extradited him back home but he's still keeping tabs on us 😏 and I will probably head North in the ultra-rare unmodified GS460 🙂
  16. Hi Ant, I'm not going to go through the details again but it's a matter of principle. I still regret not reversing back out to park next to the quiet lad in the RCF. 🙂 If it was being set up by anyone else I would try to attend. I do sincerely hope it goes well and that it is being organised for the benefit of the SC community and not an individual. By coincidence I'm due to work all day in Leeds the day before and a part of me thinks I should travel South on Sunday stopping in Grantham on the way home - if there's a space in the public parking area of course. 🤣
  17. Thanks Ant, having looked at the admins I don't think I will join that group. 🙂 I enjoyed meeting people at Grantham last year but it seemed more for the benefit of CF than the SC. The Lexus article said it all.
  18. I haven't been invited. Is it the same set up as last year as I believe the host is no longer a member of the original group? 😏 I agree Calvin (SC430Mods) seems a fair guy and properly supports the products he sells. I think he tests the products and resells them in most cases and develops/enhances them further in others.
  19. Sorry Anthony I missed this one. They are the type that replace the existing red door lens but the seller no longer lists them.
  20. That would be quite a dramatic change. I don't think I've seen anyone in the UK do it. I'm tempted to do the GS that way with the Tesla style screen but as it's the rare 460 the Lexus police would take a dim view.
  21. Hopefully it's an easy fix otherwise I can talk you through a simple upgrade.😏
  22. I think the top screen relies on power from the connection to the lower cover. As you recently had an issue with that one, perhaps there may be a link.
  23. I think he played it fairly safe which is the right thing to do. Too many have ruined a car with an excessively loud exhaust and the car is powerful enough to have plenty of fun.
  24. The only way to measure it is by putting it on the rollers before and after. Despite what others say, I do believe keeping the large rear box is the best way to go.
  25. Sounds very nice. Not too loud but definitely a V8.🙂 Is the new cat back exhaust now; old Y pipe, new third sports cat, dual out to 2 new resonators and one large centre box? i.e. standard configuration but with new stainless steel custom parts? Any difference in power will be a very small measure over stock but almost everyone with a new exhaust says it feels as if it has more torque.
