  1. I've had an IS250 SE Auto with MM for about a month now and love it. The Mark Levinson is excellent. I have the Oakham beige leather which for me, with no kids or anyone to make the car dirty, is fine. MPG wise - it's averaging about 29MPG over 800 miles; I did a lot of motorway driving one week and that tank averaged about 32MPG so pretty good for a 2.5 auto. The auto does keep the engine at low revs for a lot of the time so i guess that helps. And the other thing is that the car looks superb when just washed in the sunshine (I've have Cardoxton).
  2. Jezzer, I'd be very interested to know how the IS compares to the 5 series. Which 5 series have you got ? The E39 or E90 ? Which engine ? If you have owned a 5 series and driven (and liked) the IS then it must be a very good car. Errr... actually I had an E60 - the current 5-series. Nice car (I had a 525d auto), quick, horrible run flats (get the pressure wrong and they tramline like mad on motorways) infuriating iDrive (apart from the fact it just talked to my phone, got the phone book with no fussing which is better than the MM system). I'm currently getting better mpg out of a 250 (believe that if you will!) and I have a sound system (the Mark Levinson system) that just blows it away. Incidentally, the ML system is much better than a Porsche Bose system too :)
  3. Does anyone know how to send numbers (contacts) from a Windows Mobile device (an HP iPAQ514) into the MM system? According to the compatibility guide published by Lexus I should be able to send these in bulk but I can't seem to find it on the phone. Any thoughts/ideas welcome. :)
  4. Matus - do the other windows open at the switch on their respective door? I had the problem where I could only open the driver's window from the driver's door. All the other windows opened only by the switch on their door. Was told by the dealer that it was "sync" issue. Solve it by going to each door, drop the window and hold the button down at the bottom for 3 secs then put the window up and hold the switch up for 3 secs when it gets to the top. Worked for me.
  5. I've just bought an IS250 SE MM Auto and so far very impressed. Did the same thing - looked at the 3-series, A4 and C-class. C-class is just not nice, the A4 is good but a little dull with restricted choice of engines and the 3-series is just "common" - i.e. everyone's got one. I looked at both the SE and SE-L and found that I couldn't justify the extra cost of the SE-L but definitely go for the MM. Mine is Cardoxtan with Oakham and, I don't have too many problems keeping the Oakham clean.
  6. Will post some pics at some point soon. I've just my first DVD in and again blown away by the sound system...
  7. So following my previous couple of posts, I finally did it and bought a new IS250 SE MM auto in Cardoxton with Oakham (beige). Had it for a few days - what a fantastic car. Sooo quiet, reasonable fuel economy so far (about 26mpg) close to my old BMW 5-series diesel and a much simpler navigation system -the BMW iDrive system seems so inferior now (although I could dial a phone number on the move!). The Mark Levinson system is nothing short of amazing. Highly recommend Lexus Bracknell - they've been great.
  8. So Cardoxton/Oakham it is... a new 250 SE Auto MM to be delivered shortly!
  9. Yes - no kids so that's not an issue. I think I'm leaning towards the Cardoxton/Oakham combination.
  10. Thinking of Cardoxton or Velvet black... I keep seeing cars in showrooms which are Cardoxton or Windsor Blue with the Oakham (beige) and it looks superb. Decisions, decisions :D
  11. So following on from a previous post about whether to go for an IS250 SE or SE-L... I also need to think about what colour leather. How practical is the Oakham leather - looks fantastic in a dark car but just not sure whether it's practical for every day. With my practicality hat on I, I think black but it's soooo dull :D
  12. Hmmm - given that I'm looking to change from a 5-series BMW, I don't have a number of those things anyway (it's a BMW isn't it!). I like the electric steering wheel and memory seats but, IMHO, it's not enough. The key thing I think is that I have the MM pack. Does anyone know if you can fit rear parking sensors as a dealer fit option? Are there any 250 SE auto MM owners who want to give an opinion on their car? :D
  13. Hi, New to the forum and looking at an IS250SE auto with MM. Am I going to regret not spending the 2k extra for an SE-L (doesn't seem like a lot extra for my cash) and what sort of discount can I expect to get? Thanks.
