im hopefully goin to buy the sony one off ebay, but i've never had any experience with sony, anyone tried em?

now i know the lex is RWD so its not meant to be great in the snow, but is it meant to be shockingly bad??? i felt like i had absolutely no control at all and snow mode did jack :tsktsk: !! I felt like pullin over n walkin to work!!

make sure you do it with plenty of light, my lock came loose and it took feckin ages to get the lock realigned properly

ok i now know why is wasnt turning on. if its the same as mine it requires a 5v feed. so by cutting the end of a charger or docking station and connecting it to the cig lighter your giving it 12v. If you look at the writing on the charger its says input 12v - output 5v. without a resistor it wont work. and i think i may have just fried my tom tom learning that info :(

on the first press i cant open the door and if i move the alarm goes off second press i can move about and open the door from inside only the whole point of the second press is so if someone waits in the car you can lock it for safety without the alarm going off. it would be dangerous for the car to be deadlocked aswell, the passenger would be stuck in the car

i apprieciate thats how much there worth, i just think its silly money just for a lid! id prefer to pay £200 more and have a good satnav and a motor function to lift it out

if you have it pushed over to the right and when you open your door, try opening the passenger door, you may have a faulty sensor in the drivers door

i hate the beeping too but to be honest if you play musice its not that bad, and after all my whinging i also have put it in reverse by mistake! as for the interior light, on the roof the switch has 3 settings, push it towards passenger door and its on perm, middle is off, and towards driver door is on when doors open

i really want one, that my plan, but only one on ebay for £50 and £25 p&p. not payin that

yep, if i sit in the car and press the lock twice i can move around and open the door

mines 2001 and the second press disables the interior alarm and un-deadlocks the door. That makes sense as the second press is for when someone is waiting in the car. if the deadlock didnt come off they couldnt get out in an emergancy

Which wire is positive? i have a white and black one and a pink one

my photo looks poor cus i got the flash on but they are bright lol The ac i used strip leds like THESE, there great, just fold em in and solder one connector The clock were just 2 t5s if i remember right, but you have to file the bulb down and dab superglue over the lens other wise there too bright and you have two big dots in the clock

for now just sticky pads but as its on felt it can wobble so im going to change to 2 small black self tapping screws I didn't change the cable, jus cut the usb connector off, peeled back the skin and seperated the red and black from the green and white. And i guess there is always that risk, but only the same as rings on the window and stuff like that. I lock my glove box so with the car being deadlocked they cant get to it anyway

Ok, i really want the built in sat nav but it just aint gonna happen yet. The one i was gonna get off ebay is the OEM case with a sony sat fit inside. at first i thought this was great but to be honest i've read the sony sat is total pants. and i have a brand new top banana tomtom which apparently is the daddy. so until i can get my hands on a OEM sat nav casing (without the guts so i can try n fit my tom tom in) i want a nice way of fitting my sat nav without stickin it to the window n trailing the charger over the radio. so i did this and wired to the cigarette lighter..... What you reckon? its tidy at least and when i finish i can just take the satnav out.

what type do you have? if i dont win this one i may be looking to you then

i hear the second clunck too. thats the motor disabling the dead lock. first press - 1 clunk and 1 flash - deadlocks on and interior sensor on second press - 1 clunk and 5 flashes - deadlocks off and interior sensor off

i still think were safe, most coppers are gonna see a lexus and assume it should have HID's anyway, its only if the see chaved up corsas n saxos they'll stop n think
