lol so basically you can have a remote starter that you cant use cus it would be illegal. i might go n buy one, just to look at. and i dont deny that the insurance company will accept that you have it, but you try claiming of them if the car gets nicked cus of it, or if theres a malfunction and it causes and accident. i think not!

UK Law (construction and use regulations), it is illegal to have the engine of a car running if the driver is not in the car. The only exception to this is were the engine must run to power some auxillary work device such as a compressor on a recovery truck. i thank you :D :D

so thats everywhere then?? and as soon as you switch that car on without sitting at the wheel, regardless of the saftey features, you have just broke the law. if i get caught for speeding then its my own fault for being careless, however being caught for an illegal mod when i have drove perfectly well but some tit bumped me is something totally different. im afraid its not that black and white, run a search on here for HID and read the hundreds of topics on the subject, i feel safe with my hids. exactly, theres that many muppets driving around with undeclared mods that the rest of us have to fork out to cover them. whats an extra £10 a month compared to writing off your car and getting no insurance money from it!

well prepare to meet a lot cus nearly everyone on here have declraed there mods Im fully aware that speeding is against the law, however, you not speeding 24/7. if your at the lights and someone crashes into you your fine, with illegal mods your not. Im happy to take the law into my own hands on certain occasions when i speed and im fully aware of the consequences and risks and i take the necessary precautions, driving with illegal mods 24/7 is too much of a risk, only takes one muppet to bump you. and i havent agreed with most the things you said, i said i occasionally speed, thats all. Simple answer, if you dont declare Mods your an idiot. (sorry to all the idiots).

when i turn my key it takes about 1 second for the engine to start, i don like the sound of it waiting to tick over for that long, how do you get the engine to kick in as soon as key turned, do better spark plugs do that?

mine sounds windy by my window at high speeds and i have to turn Rage well up to drown it out on the motorway, more that 1/4 i reckon. As far as i was aware the boot light would only come on if the lights were switched on, same as glove box.?

how bad is this wind noise? as far a im aware lexus arn't quiet cars by a long shot and above 50mph you will definitely hear wind noise loud, unless you blare the stereo like me! As for the dent, i'd try it but im sure they will say sold as seen so you should of spotted it before you bought the car. The boot light, change the bulb first, if it still doesnt come on, then mention it

have to say i dont agree with this post, i would be confident in saying the majority of people on here have declared there mods. As for the lights, the law is so unclear on the legality of them there really is no issue with them at the minute. i agree with people speed, but again the majority of sensible drivers on here would do it in areas they are familiar with and where they know there are no cameras. I never hold the phone to my head as you never know whos watchin round the corner, and i would never purposly drive over a zebra as its just rude! All your examples are by choice and you can stop breaking the law at any point, by fitting an illegal mod you can never stop doing it, so if you have an accident, your buggered! and umm i dont think i'd like to try n trick the insurance company, i can see that going to court and then finding out your bank statements buying the alarm and then FRAUD SQUAD!

yup, and insurance is void, imagine if your car got nicked and and you rang up n told em that you were havin a dump with the engine running!! i know a lot of the alarms now have safety features so they cant be nicked and there safe but the law hasnt been changed to reflect that so i wouldnt take the risk at the mo. also your meant to declare an alarm mod, my mate got a new alarm and his insurance went up! if you dont declare it (which u cant cus illegal) and you have a crash.......... bye bye insurance!

Just been reading the thread on the 60K service, and my bottom expanded when i saw the price. im on about 64k at the mo, i didnt have to do the 60k service so im happy, however, i will be doing a 70k one, how much do you think that would cost? And if i get my cam belt at same time how much then?

will someone show me how to check my cam belt when i get there?

is it easy to check if the cam has got any frays or tears? i dont really wanna get it done for a couple months but its playing on my mind a bit,

i dont think you are reading the posts fully You can use 0805's on the ac, not unless your an amazing electrican, wouldnt have a clue how to fit them in. 0805's are for the stereo, and yes they are very bright, see the photo in the 1st page of this topic
