  1. Thanks Ken She needs 1 or 2 supermarket dings sorted and some stone chips touched up other than that she's pretty decent for a 15 y/o car. I did notice that the power steering pump or rerservoir is leaking. I believe this could be critical for the alternator, right? Is there a common spot where they leak and is that fixable or am I looking at a new unit?
  2. Thanks again Steve, I knew I could count on you :) As promised a pic of the old lady..
  3. Hi Steve, thanks No, I had a different light for the Bulb and already fixed that. That had an ! inside the (O) and was located within the rev counter. This light is under the speedo and the ( ) are 'dotted'
  4. Oh 1 more thing... there's a warning light on that looks like this (O) is that the brake pad wear indicator?
  5. Unfortunately the weather was so crap I could't take any pics. Good new is; I managed to 'fix' the acceleration issue by taking off the MAF sensor connector, cleaning it and voila...she ran perfectly again. What an easy fix :D
  6. Ah thanks for that tip Ken. Will check tomorrow and let you know
  7. Yes, I did choose for the under body wash. I just hope it didn't burn out anything. The rev counter stopped working as well after the wash but that works again so hopefully it'll be fine when all is dry again? The weather here isn't exactly contributing to that.. lol
  8. Hi Spikes, thanks. When I'm careful with the accelerator pedal she still drives normal and yes let's hope it's only water/damp and it resolves itself
  9. Hi Ken, thanks. I think about 20 miles before we hit the car wash. Before that it was running fine, I floored it on the way to the car wash 1 time just to catch a boy racer :)
  10. Thanks for your response Ian. I doubt it's a plug though cause when accelerating gently she will rev, only when I press the pedal in too far at once she dies...... Anyone have any ideas?
  11. well..I am now the proude owner of a 1993 Lexus LS400 :) I decided to take it trough a car wash...BAD idea Now if I floor it the revs completely die...it still accelerates when I do it gradually but when I push the pedal down too far she just dies Also the rev counter stopped working, don't know if that's related What a great start..lol
  12. Hi all. :D I'm about to buy my first Lexus Ls400, in fact I'm going to have a look at 1 tomorrow morning. I have been restoring a few Porsches recently but am a complete newbie on the Lexus. Does anyone have any tips or stuff I should look (out) for? Cheers, Ruud
