  1. Wicked, at least I know what it is. Does it get replaced when the clutch get changed?? James
  2. Very nice mate, where did you get the wheels so cheap??? What size are they??
  3. Just noticed a small whine from my car this morning, only when the clutch was up and only till the car warmed up. Anyone think this might be what I think, and it being the clutch release bearing? If so what does this mean in terms of potential problems?? Had planned on up-rating the clutch in the next 12months. But has it any short term implications? James
  4. So its do-able? Where is best place to get paint? And how many layers of paint/lacquer should I use?? James
  5. After a bit of an incident with the works jet wash and my alloys ( taking some of the lacquer off when trying to clean off break dust!) I was wondering how hard it would be to spray them myself and get a decent finish. Now I have no experience in doing this, but I do have a decent spare, so could take it off and leave it for a couple of days while I work my magic. Could anyone give me any advice and sugestions on how the best way I should go about it? I want a gloss black finish, any help would be great thank you! James
  6. Granite Sky is my fav, but I would say that coz thats what colour mine is, silver and blue are too common. White is the only other colour I'd have, in my humble opinion.
  7. I avarage 25mpg and thats with a heavy right foot, but in all honesty don't notice too much impovement in that when I try and drive sensible. I picked up a 99 plate for 3.5k at xmas, with 56k on the clock. Watch out for exhaust blowing, tyres and timing belt/water pump. As these are all things that have been costing me cash at the min. There are defo ways to run an IS200 on a budget, but its hard work LOL James
  8. Evening mate, I'm pretty sure I saw you on the hard shoulder on my way home from work. If i'm right you were just before the brighouse turning on the M62? Saw your car and was Gutted for the driver (you). Its a bad stretch of motorway, is the fourth or five accident I have seen on my way home in as many weeks! Hope you get a swift pay out and you find a car to replace it with asap. James
  9. Nice one, where is best place to find it? Car spares shop or Helfrauds?? :D
  10. Wicked, I only noticed it when I saw the IS300 in banzai last month. That has crystal clear lights, wondered if they were after market ones, or he had just found the right cleaning product! Which T-cut have you used?? James
  11. My headlights are getting a bit cloudy, and I can't get them clean! Does anyone know how to clean them and get them looking all shiney?? James
  12. How much do these usually sell for, a friend of a friend works at Lexus and got a set for sale for a ton? Is this good or bad, certainly wouldn't pay a ton myself, but don't know how much they are worth in the first place! LOL!
  13. Got turbo groove discs and red stuff pads, you can't really see them through the standard 5spoke rims to be fair. Unless your up close. Great performance, but when your bedding them in make sure you clean your wheels often. Also if you've been caining it, coz the brake dust sticks like mad to your wheels. Although now they are bedded in they don't create much dust. I posted pics up when I fitted mine, will be about if you do a search. Cheers
  14. Yeah, mine passed last weekend without any problems even with the exhaust blowing like a bee-hatch! Loves the IS200! B)
  15. Defo considering the blue flame. But also like the look of the HKS Silent Power, can't imagine that being too quiet though! I haven't removed the pre-cats, or got induction kit. Bu these are defo things that I want to do, and will certainly be getting in the future. So while I'm dealing with the problem i've got i'd rather do the job right and not have to worry about it again in future.
  16. Thanks everyone for all the info, been a great help. The £370 was all in fitted and guaranteed with all the gaskets and stuff. Think first step will be to call the insurance company and see on cost of declaring de-cat. And then if I get it done taking it to local garage and have them test the engine imissions while i have it seviced. Just to see if I have anything to worry about. Might try stretch my budget (Visa card) to include a decent cat-back exhaust while i'm at it. anyone get a stainless steel back end that doesn't make too much noise?????
  17. Don't like the sound of them confiscating my car! I have seen a de-cat pipe on Ebay for £80, and thats a lot cheaper then the £370 I have been quoted to replace my Cat, and also adds a bit of power while I'm at it! Seems win win, and could keep my current Cat for MOT time. As it only stays sealed for a few 100 miles. Just worried about emissions test. And insurance company
  18. Don't mind switching it over before MOT, but could I get in trouble with the plod, or insurance company for using one??
  19. Are they legal??? Have read lots of stuff on it, but still un-sure. Does anyone have one fitted, and have you told your insurance company? Or what happens at MOT day?? James
  20. I nearly got them, but bit skint, going to Ibiza in a weeks time, so saving cash for then! :o) ME2 LOL!
  21. Little back street garage, :) Yeah, hunting ebay now for the other three needed, then might try get them gloss blacked! Winner!
  22. Absolute bargin, just need to find another 3 for the same price LOL!
  23. Nope, its the Cat pipe thats buggered. So it isn't a gasket then? Does the cat' come straight off the manifold, or is it that the cat' is causing back pressure which blows the gasket? Wish I knew more about these things..... Doh!!! just cal me homer!!! lol.... Col. :winky: The flange (love that word) is knackered on the mid-section Cat part of my exhaust. And i'm not getting a decent enough seal and the thing keeps blowing. Going to see if I can muster the cash to get the hi-flow one, but money is tight at the minute. And time is running out too, as MOT is due next week. Only other option is a local custom exhaust maker has said he can take both flanges off, and fabricate a new joint. This is a lot cheaper option, but mean my manifold will be cut up. And if the system goes again i'd probably have to replace it. James Eeeeek! Bummer.... get in to debt and do it properly.. It's worth it mate.. Col.. Yeah, going to try stretch and get the one off prolex. Would i notice any improvements in power, or will I need to replace the rear section too?? James
