  1. I usually get about 370miles to a tank, long distances I get 400+. And i've got a heavy right foot! LOL!
  2. Does my 1999 Is200 have one? Most posts state that its from 2000 onwards. Can anyone shed any light on this? James
  3. Yeah, I live in Leeds, be up for meeting up especially to see some other peeps mods. James
  4. Pretty sure its been in Fast Car too recently. Getting some nice attention mate. You thought about trying to get a full feature?
  5. Stav, pretty sure your car in the latest jap performance mag. At the JAE show. Looking good. James
  6. Had trouble starting my IS over last couple of weeks. With no set pattern, the car will turn over fine, put only start if I either give it a bit of as or turn off then on again. The only thing I do out the orderinary is sit with the car on first stage for half our on my lunch to have the music on, could this be putting strain on my battery? Or could it just be the cold weather? Anyone any ideas? James
  7. Defo traction control light, if you want to check, just boot it in the wet. Should spin rear tyres and same light will come on. Doubt there was anything on the road, IS's slip n slide in the wet. James
  8. only one visible Cam gear...... http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/g_E_2003_LEXU...L-AEFVKW_1.html LOL! My mistake!
  9. I thought the engine was only a 12valve? Really confused. The engine only has one cam gear on top of the engine. James
  10. Sorry to go off subject a bit, but the Wiki-page states the 1G-FE is a DOHC, is this right?? Sorry if this is a really stupid question. Also would it be possible to bolt a 24valve head to a 1G-FE?? Cheers James
  11. Asi have pm'd you. Cheers James
  12. Does anyone know what size hoses are in the silicone hose kits for the 1G-FE? Just found a few places that have them cheaper serperate, but un-sure of sizes. Cheers James
  13. Thought I had the same problem a while ago, but realised it was the stereo being a bit too loud! LOL!
  14. Quality set of motors mate, trying to convince the g/f to get a celica too! LOL! Still can't get over the hill you live on, looks mental on the pics, bet ya leave it in gear when parked on it! ;) James
  15. Thanks everyone for the info, and views. I am still trying to work out the best and cheapest way of getting more bang for my cash! Would like the extra power of the 3.0litre engine, but can't be bothered with an auto. Have been having a look at other cars, but can't bring myself to part with the IS. Seen a few integra's and even a couple if celica GT4's but can't be doing with the interiors. Hmm.....shall carry on hunting till I find something right. Thanks again James
  16. Would it take much work? Obviously it'd need some fabrication, for the gear link and stuff. But would it require any work on the electrics side of things? James
  17. Into a 3.0litre IS300 or Sportcross engine? Is it possible?? James
  18. I'm with Gareth, recon I get less then 20mpg most the time. But to hell with it, nowt beats the feeling of blating about in an IS200. :) James
  19. What a shame, as generally there are so many unused connectors tapped up, but the one you NEED is never there, any more replies greatly recieved True, but to be honest, its not hard to fit and wire the electrics up. I did it with very little experience and only took a couple of hours to do whole interior swap! Give us a shout if you have problems. :) James
  20. Probably going to get some stick for this, but I quite like it, haven't been driving for long (less then a year). And it means I can crack on with learning how a rwd car behaves without flying backwards into a ditch! But to be honest unless its wet, there isn't enough power in an IS200 to really get you in trouble on a public road un-less you are driving like an absolute :tsktsk: !!!! So traction control stays on un-less I want to light up rear wheels. James
  21. Trouble is I simply can't be without my car, need it to get to and from work. So once I start I am commited. Don't have access to a full workshop either, so I don't have as much flexability to bodge something together if I can't get the bolt un-done. Does anyone know if clear cam-belt covers and Cnc's cam gears are available for the 1g-fe?? James
  22. Afternoon everyone, Does anyone live near Leeds who has experience changing a timing belt?? Would like to save some pennies by doing the job myself, but I don't feel super confident in such a big job. I know there is a good write up on here of what to do, but i'm also a little worried about the special tool needed. I don't completly lack experience, and have changed brakes and discs myself, and loads of other stuff. But if anyone is local and would be willing to lend a hand would be great! James
  23. Easy mate, just in the process of replacing my Cat. Found a place that can do a replacement stainless steel one for about £80. Let me know if you want details. As for warning light, I don't think you'll get one as my Cat has blown, and i'm getting no warning on dash. And there are no sensors around the main Cat either. James
