Ive got a 98 Vertex twin turbo ive read Toyota say the engine and box will handle 600bhp :D not bad for a factory rating as they normally speak on the side of caution If you get one you wont be dissapointed they are very quick

Loz correct me if i am wrong i was thinking of getting a laser jammer for my van as i do alot of miles in it and had just got done, but i heard of a case in gwent where they are hot on speeding where a guy was speeding and the laser van couldnt get a fix on his veichle because of the jammer and he was later prosecuted for making himself unavailable for prosecution

yeah i looked a at a couple of Aristos before i bought mine and there sat nav had all been converted to work in U.K. mine hasnt got it but it has got the premium sound system which is great

The standard 17" rims look ok but i dont think ok is good enough for me what size rims will bolt on without hassle i.e. no arch mods would like 10" wide rears 8" up front whats the biggest you can go and what are the downsides, i have spoke to a couple of people that say it does you supension no good having big rims ? What sizes are you all running and what have you experienced ?

Does any one else find the brakes on the Aristo not that impressive ? I get a slight steering wheel shake under braking which i assume could be warped disks service booked on the 18th so will ask them to check if this is the case i would buy after market disks and pads any recommendations

Its not your rear blind rattling is it ? on my 98 Aristo when its down the flap on the top rattles its a bit annoying ! Press the button put it up rattle gone

Well after alot of searching bought a aristo yesterday cant stop driving it lovely sunny weekend in Bournemouth which made driving it better and f*ck its quick just need to join gold now as it needs a service but spoke to Lexus Poole and they said no probs and seemed very helpful very happy :D

Roads are so clean in the states because most of the highways are sponsered by some bloody thing or another just another reason to have a corperate logo by the roadside where as here we have the higways agency which is an excuse to have big trucks with flashing lights and slow traffic down

After looking at an Aristo for sale yesterday and finding scratches round the vin plate and an interior that had done more miles than the clock said i left feeling that all is true about peoples view on imports! Has anyone imported their own or know of anybody that has done this what are the risks apart from not being able to test drive it before hand. There are alot of websites that will bring the car to your door but are they any good there will of course be some run by crooks but not all surly?

I am going to look at a vertex tomorrow got quotes from both tesco and adrian flux bearing in mind im 26, 3 points, 5 yrs no claims. tesco quoted £1214.85 with no claims protection and adrian flux were £947.50 with no claims protection both £300 excess. Can recommend adrian flux as they insure my other import and have had no probs with them

Ive been told by a couple of people that 95% of jap imports dont have service history does anyone else know if this is true ? If so why is this, is it something to do with the language barrier ?

can any one tell me when the service intervals are on the gs 300 and would they be the same for the aristo, can anyone guess how many services it should have had at 32000 miles!

Hi im new to this site very informative well done. I to am thinking of buying a lexus GS 300 Aristo vertex 2000 model on a v plate, I have read all the other threads about what to look out for insurance, vibrations e.t.c spoke to the garage selling it today has no service history 32,000 miles all jap paper work (which probably wont be much help as i dont speak jap) they said they have done a big service on it and its mint, was imported near end of 2000. got an insurance quote today from tesco not your favorite i know but quite cheap at £1037.40p , it apparently has been HPI checked and datataged they want 15k for it. Anyone got any alarm bells ringing or any more advice for me as i want to look at it next weekend Any help appreciated Alex
