  1. As for them steering wheels there dangerous aswell all that turning and stuff bring back the romans and there straight roads much safer! I agree the law is wrong
  2. I too think the autoglym stuff is ****, Glad other people think so as the rest of there range is exellent.
  3. You could try Ray at www.rayvernhydraulics.com he's more into custom stuff but knows loads about custom suspension. Sounds to me like your compresseor isnt working to inflate the bags or you have an air leak in one of the bags which would mean the compresser is working overtime and will go wrong soon.
  4. I was thinking the same combination for my Aristo have been searching Yank wheel companies for rims but cant find any i like. I want chrome ones but there either ***** or made for SUVs
  5. My 98 Aristo blows ice cold within 3-4 seconds of starting the engine. It got so cold yesterday i had to open the window
  6. I used the AA before i bought my Aristo and found both the call centre staff and the engineer very professional. Could not fault the report in any way he was very thorough listing absoultly everything that he thought was worth mentioning well worth the £240
  7. Steve is it the one in millenium autos in Queens road ?? I looked at it before i bought mine
  8. Dont bother just forget it and keep looking you'll find a good one
  9. Adrian flux were the cheapest i got £900ish with no claims protection but it all depends on circumstances and where you live e.t.c so you have to find whats best for you phone them all up though cos some just take the *****.
  10. Jap makes have done that in the past such as Datsun/Nissan with older cars dont know why seems a bit odd to chrome something then paint it?
  11. Yep as sorted avensis said you need to speak to Ray at rayvern hydraulics www.rayvernhydraulics.com bags will be fine on a big Lex in the states they jump minitrucks 2 foot off the floor with airbags The guy with the prelude at JAE is a geezer called Craig thats running hydraulics not bags dunno if hes going this year hes a member of a club im in www.unitylowrider.co.uk if you have any questions about hydraulics or airbags ask on there forum were a good bunch of guys and will help you out. 12. Insurance will stitch you up whatever just let em know normally wont charge you for small mods. One thing i did notice though, other day when mine went in for a service i was offered a courtesy car and they asked if i was fully comp as they no longer offer dealer insurance, So i said of course i am! After a call to my insurance company to clarify driving of other vehicles i was told i can drive any of my mates vehicles no matter what the value, but a courtesy car from a garage" no sir you cant drive that because its value is more than your car" EXCUSE ME! they were going to loan me an is200 for the day but because it was brand new and worth more than my Aristo i would not be insured. Yet i could drive any one of my mates cars no matter what the value but not a car from a garage "yes sir that is right" So in the end i left it even though the is200 is a litre smaller and 2 turbos less i couldnt drive it!!! Check the small print people dont assume anything
  13. Got any pics would like to see one on 19s seen one on 20s looks too big unless lowered
  14. Mine works when driving along is it a little joystick type thing that you move side to side up and down. Tip for people buying cars play with the buttons before you buy it
  15. Dont be put off by this if you want one then you will find one, it took a while to find my 98 in silver, lots of buying Autrotraders, Top marques e.t.c and lots of net searches lots of phone calls to sellers but worth it in the end, got a 98 60,000 miles full lexus service history 1 owner from new (no jap owners) Just dont rush in to it take your time, do your legwork on the phone remember they want to sell it to you they will give you any details of service history so you can check out the garages that have serviced it and you can ask them about the car. If the seller doesn't want to give you these then be suspicious, if you do get an Aristo you will love it they are great cars. Havent looked at one in maidenhead though remember check the VIN plate.
  16. Be very careful i looked at a few before i got mine all appeared to be stolen usual things no service history quite a few owners and VIN plates that had been tampered with. Whereabouts in london are you looking i might have looked at it already?
  17. Cheers, might be a bit pricey for me to take to Lexus then ill take it apart and have a look myself see if theres anything obvious just needs greasing up
  18. On my 98 Aristo when i turn the ignition off and the steering wheel retracts it makes a loud grinding noise i would say it needs lubricating does anyone know where to do this?
  19. Cheers Mat i dont mind your do's and dont likes as i am fairly new to the forums and have not read all older posts if you think they are ***** id rather know from someone who has had experience with products i havent. The disks and pads are knackered and i want new ones dont see the point buying standard ones any more recommendations from anyone maybe the is200 guys what do they uprate to?
  20. Cheers Doodlebug rather not name them yet you never know they might phone me tommorrow and be very apologetic and sort everything out if they dont i will let everyone know dont worry. Only thing is they've done a 9000 mile service and charged me for it fair enough but i asked for a 60,000 mile service which takes longer therefore a higher labour charge, but if they do it they have already done some of the service so i should get a big discount on the next bill if you understand what im saying what the view of the forum
  21. Well took my 98 Aristo into lexus today for a service. Previously on the phone when i booked the service i said i wanted the full 60,000 mile service which includes the cambelt asked for a price quoted me approx £600. So left it there this morning had it all day picked it up this evening and looked at the service sheet to see what they had done hmmmm cant see the cambelt on there and only a bill of £260 ? when questioned about this said oh we've only done a 9000 mile service that was all that was asked for even though i pointed out that they have wrote £600 pound on the corner of the job card! The whole point of getting it booked in was because it needs a cambelt if it goes the car aint much use and the fact ive only just bought it wanted a full service and everything checked for peace of mind. There going to contact me tommorrow and explain themselves ard get it booked in to do what i asked. Are they normally this bad or is this a one off first impressions last and all that
  22. Its quite simple if you steal its wrong most people were brought up that way! So why are these people not punished i was working in hayes middlesex and staying in a hotel where my van and my mates van were broken in to in the early evening (wasn't even dark ) despite reasonable measures on my part to protect my tools i.e. £300 van vault with high security locks locked to the floor of the van, a group of people decided it was their right to take these by pushing a screwdriver through the side of my van and cutting my van vault out of my van and taking all of it end result £5000 of my equipment gone just like that! Does anyone give a f*ck ......... no, police perhaps ........ no, hotel ......... no said to me "yeah it happens all the time if there was 10 vans getting done a night like in the travellodge on the M4 id be worried" (thanks for letting me know when i checked in) So i am a tradesman i work with my hands i need tools to use my hand effectivley and earn myself money and because of some w*nkers i am effectivley disabled unless i go out and spend loads of cash and buy new tools. A thief how ever uses his hands mostly to steal so why not cut them off and make it difficult to do his job that way he wouldnt be able to steal all our stuff and would be easily recognisable in the street as the scum he is!
  23. There both mk2 98 Aristos not mk1s are they the same on the mk2 or did they change it
  24. Rodders and pee.j Phoned EBC also, said they dont have Lexus listed but can probably make them or said the supra ones might fit ? Do you know if this is the case and if the Gs300 and Aristo brakes are the same ?
  25. Mine are the same knackered gonna get some nice aftermarket crossdrilled and grooved ones all round
